— MAYA ANGELOU

Natick kicks off Pride 2026 with eight great stories on the theme “Living in Truth.”
Local voices along with award-winning storytellers share their truth with brief,
true-life, transformative stories.

This evening is organized in collaboration with Fugitive Productions which has
been bringing true-life stories to the stage for a decade to communities in GreaterBoston and Metrowest.

These stories can be funny, heart-wrenching, and revealing. Audience members
report that one or more stories sparked a memory or created a moment
of reflection that lingers.

Please join us for a memorable evening. A great way to jump-start a month
of celebration.

On Sunday 5/24 we invite guest minister Rev. Ken Reeves back to preach on "A Letter From God."

"I find letters from God dropt in the street, and every one is sign’d by God’s name…" writes Walt Whitman. What would such a letter say? The letter offered in this service offers God's history from primal time to the present as described by God. As God puts it: "I am eternal and evolving."

50 years ago, women of South Natick made this intricate quilt depicting scenes of the area. How many can you name?

The quilt, which is approximately 8 feet high by 6 feet wide, hangs in the Eliot Church parlor.

Faith communities do not have all of the answers to mental health needs, but we can be part of the support structure for people who are suffering either short or long-term illnesses and challenges.

During worship on Mental Health Sunday, May 17, we reflect on how we can be instruments of care to each other, each sharing our own gifts and skills.

Music at The Eliot Church is led by our longtime music director, Dr. Stephen James, who offers multiple piano and organ solos each week to nourish our spirits.

On special occasions, we have others join in the merriment and music making. Here are photos from our Easter choir and part of our special ensemble who offered music in worship recently.

How many of our sing or play an instrument? What part do you sing or what instrument do you play? What music could you imagine being incorporated into the life of the church?

Mother’s Day can hold many things at once.

For some, it is a day of joy, gratitude, and celebration.
For others, it carries grief, estrangement, longing, exhaustion, complicated relationships, or the ache of what never was.

Today, we honor all who nurture, care for, protect, guide, and love others in ways both named and unnamed. We hold close those missing their mothers, grieving children, navigating infertility or loss, carrying complicated family histories, or moving through this day with mixed emotions.

May we meet one another with gentleness.
May we make room for the fullness of people’s experiences.
And may all who need care today receive a little more of it. 💛

Thanks to support from the Natick Community Preservation Fund, this historic fence around what is now the Bacon Free Library building will be restored section by section this spring. Iterations of the fence date back to the 1840s. The land remains today, as it has long been, Nipmuc homelands and a sacred site for descendants of the Nipmucs, Massachusetts, and Praying Indians who lived here in the 1600s and early 1700s. The alternating cross and arrow motifs in the fence reference the history of the Praying Town of Natick established in 1651. The fence was last restored in 1970.

Congratulations Bacon Free Library on the restoration. We can't wait to see the fence refreshed!
