“We will not be erased”
An Intergenerational Pride History Celebration:
Dinner and Storytelling
Sunday, August 23 from 5-7 pm
at Open Spirit (39 Edwards Street in Framingham)

Open Spirit, OutMetrowest and Framingham History Center invite LGBTQ+ folks, friends, and allies to a dinner in celebration of the rich history of Pride in our Metrowest Community. Enjoy a summer meal (vegetarian and delicious) with old and new friends.

Learn about Buffy Dennison Dunker (1906-1993), an early LGBTQ+ activist, from Anna Tucker, Director of the Framingham History Center.

Hear from Lily Pearl, OutMetrowest Program and Education Manager, about who has inspired her journey.

Share a story of an “ancestor”--someone whose wisdom and caring helped you claim your beauty and power. (Bring a picture if you’d like) Eat delicious homemade desserts!

Suggested donation: $5-$30. Free to OutMetrowest participants.

For the last year or so, a coalition of folks, including the Caring Coalition of Metrowest and GBIO, has been working to advance the YIGBY legislation (Yes in God's Back Yard), which would make it easier for houses of worship to build affordable housing on their property "by right." Some houses of worship have the space and would like to build affordable housing on their properties, but right now, they cannot.

Recently, the Massachusetts House passed their version of this legislation. Now it is off to the senate. Advocates for the bill have asked that YIGBY supporters take action now to help ensure support in the State House:

If you live in Natick, you are in Sen. Spilka's district. She is the Massachusetts Senate President. She has a lot of power within our legislature. It is important to let her know that you support this bill and urge her to work with her senate colleagues to pass their version as well. Her email is [email protected]
