The American Cemetery has some beautiful Camellia brushes….red, white and pink ones!!

Roses may get all the Valentine’s Day glory, but Camellias are giving us all the Southern charm and timeless beauty! With their rich, red blooms, these stunning flowers have made their winter debut at Oakland Plantation's Main House Garden.

Did You Know?

Camellias are evergreen, keeping their rich green leaves all year and brightening winter gardens. In Victorian times, Camellias were often gifted to express admiration.

Originally from Asia, Camellias made their way to Louisiana in the 1800s, flourishing in Creole gardens and historic landscapes like Oakland Plantation. Often exchanged as a token of love and appreciation, these flowers remind us that there is beauty blooming all around us!
