We have a new Bishop Jefferson Street, how exciting, wonderful things are happening in the Global Methodist Church, the greatest growing denomination in the world. 

🔥 GREAT NEWS FOR THE GLOBAL METHODIST CHURCH!

I rejoice with great enthusiasm in the election of Dr. Luther Oconer as one of the bishops of the Global Methodist Church!

I know Dr. Luther personally as a friend. We have worked together and ministered together on many occasions in different countries, and I have had the privilege of witnessing his heart for Christ, his love for the Church, his humility, and his passion for spiritual renewal.

Dr. Oconer currently serves as Associate Professor of Global Wesleyan Theology at Asbury Theological Seminary and as Conference Superintendent of the Mega Manila Annual Conference of the Global Methodist Church. He has devoted much of his ministry and scholarship to the history of global Methodism, revival and missions, the Holiness movement, and the connections between Methodism and Pentecostalism.

But beyond the impressive résumé, I know the man.

And that is why I believe this election is more than simply a leadership decision. I believe it is a Holy Spirit-inspired moment for the Church. 🔥

Dr. Luther is not only prepared to lead the Church; I believe he is prepared to help lead the Church into a new season of revival and spiritual renewal.

He is a man who understands that Christian leadership begins in the presence of God. He listens. He prays. He seeks the voice and direction of the Holy Spirit. He does not take lightly the responsibility entrusted to him.

His ministry has been deeply shaped by a commitment to the work of the Holy Spirit and to revival. He has preached and taught on spiritual renewal across the United States and internationally, while serving churches and leaders in different contexts around the world.

The Global Methodist Church now has a leader who brings together theological depth, global perspective, pastoral experience, humility, and a deep hunger for the moving of the Holy Spirit.

I am convinced that the Methodist body of Christ will be blessed by his leadership.

May the Holy Spirit continue to fill you, guide you, strengthen you, and use you to awaken the Church, proclaim the Gospel, and lead many people into a deeper love for Jesus Christ.

This is an exciting moment for the Global Methodist Church. And I believe God has more ahead than we can imagine.

It was a wonderful night of music and storytelling by Mayor Dan At Dunleith. He did a beautiful job singing fun, old time favorites and inspirational gospel hymns. It was a blessing for all in attendance. Thank you Dan for sharing your talents and supporting Jefferson Street Methodist Church as well as offering the message of Christ’s love. Thank you Dunleith for hosting this outstanding event.
