Our page and our Instagram page are places to communicate on topics related to our organization and community. It is our home on Facebook and Instagram, and while we value an open exchange of ideas, we do maintain a few guidelines to make sure that we are able to assist people with questions and issues quic

kly and efficiently. We reserve the right to delete or mark as spam any and all comments that are not topical, are abusive, or repetitive. We also have the right to block access to any one from posting to our page and our Instagram Page
Specifically:

• While this is an open forum, it’s also a family friendly one, so please keep your comments and wall posts clean and respectful. In addition to keeping it family friendly, we ask that you follow our posting guidelines here. If you don’t comply, your message will be removed.
• We will not allow personal attacks or vulgar, abusive, offensive, threatening or harassing images and/or language. This includes creative spellings of swear words using asterisks or spaces between words.
• We will not allow comments that promote, foster or perpetuate discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, political views, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation.
• We will not allow comments that contain sexual content or links to sexual content.

As Nashville’s Jewish community prepares for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, synagogues are making significant investments in security amid ongoing concerns about antisemitism and the ability to practice faith freely and safely.

In a new op-ed, Jewish Federation of Greater Nashville CEO Judy Alperin reflects on what this reality says about religious freedom in America—and what it should ask of all of us during this time of reflection and looking toward the future.

“Every American, regardless of faith, should be troubled that in 2026, this freedom can only be safely exercised behind a fence and armed guards. ...

'More than two centuries ago, George Washington wrote to the Hebrew Congregation in Newport that the United States would give 'to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance,' and that the Jewish people would 'sit in safety under his own vine and fig tree, and there shall be none to make him afraid.'

He was writing to Jews. His promise was for all Americans, for all time, and it's one worth remembering as we enter the High Holidays."

The legendary Dolly Parton has died at 80. In addition to being a cultural and personal inspiration to millions, she was known for her generosity and philanthropy. Dolly Parton's Imagination Library mails free books to kids every month, and inspired PJ Library, which helped grow into a thriving national program delivering Jewish books to families for over 20 years.

Thank you, Dolly, for inspiring generations of young readers.

What a day for Jewish Nashville! 💙

This past weekend, Tzedakah Tzunday brought dozens of volunteers together to make calls, write thank-you notes, and connect with friends. We were so grateful to see so many people show up for Jewish Nashville.

And, of course, there was plenty of coffee, bagels and nosh along the way—much of it thanks to our amazing volunteers and their excellent cooking!

And thanks to all of you, we more than doubled our goal!!!

We’re incredibly thankful to everyone who volunteered, gave, encouraged, fed the team, or helped make the day happen. Every call, conversation, note and gift made a difference.
Thank you for showing up for Jewish Nashville and for one another. It was such a great reminder of what happens when our Jewish Nashville mishpacha comes together.

Keeping Jewish Nashville safe takes all of us.

Last week, Jewish Nashville came together across three security events to learn, ask questions, practice, and strengthen the relationships that help keep our community safe. Community leaders, security professionals, law enforcement, and community partners from across Nashville joined the conversation, shared their expertise, and worked together to strengthen our community.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who showed up, shared their expertise, asked thoughtful questions, and committed to looking out for one another and making Jewish Nashville stronger and safer.
