A Spirit-Filled Celebration: Pastor’s Appreciation at Capers Memorial CME The Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.

Yesterday, Sunday, July 6, 2025, the sanctuary of Capers Memorial CME Church was filled with joy, gratitude, and reverence as members, family, and friends came together to celebrate our beloved shepherd, Pastor Dewayne E. Moore, during our annual Pastor’s Appreciation.

The day was beautifully anchored by a powerful and spirit-led message from Reverend Patricia Buckner (Retired), whose sermon, “What Makes a Good Man or a Good Woman,” was drawn from Psalm 37:23-24. Her anointed preaching stirred hearts and reminded all in attendance of the divine call and character that shapes those who lead God’s people with integrity, compassion, and strength.

One of the most unforgettable and soul-stirring moments of the day came when three teens gave their lives to Christ, boldly stepping forward to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Their courage inspired others, as several other youth who are members expressed a desire to be baptized by immersion, marking a profound move of the Spirit among our younger generation.

Throughout the celebration, Pastor Moore was surrounded by an outpouring of love, appreciation, and heartfelt tributes from members, relatives, and friends alike. Words of gratitude were shared, honoring not just his preaching and teaching but also his unwavering commitment to ministry, compassion for others, and leadership that reflects the heart of Christ.

Following the worship celebration, a joyous fellowship meal was served to all in attendance. The meal was more than just a time to dine—it was a time of laughter, shared reflections, and a continuation of the morning’s spirit of unity, love, and thanksgiving.
We thank God for Pastor Moore’s life, leadership, and labor in the vineyard. As we celebrated him on this special occasion, we were reminded that a true pastor is not just called—they are chosen, anointed, and deeply cherished.

To Pastor Dewayne E. Moore—thank you for your faithfulness. May God continue to bless you richly as you bless His people.
