Covered With Prayer: A Prayer Quilt Ministry We are a ministry of The Temple Church, located in Nashville, TN.

We are a Chapter of the “A Prayer and Squares - organization that combines the gift of prayer with the gift of a hand-tied quilt (Source: http://www.prayerquilt.org/).

Making prayer shawls are also some of our ministry projects. This lovely shawl was made by Sis. Gwen Nubia Cartmell.

The foundation scripture of our ministry is 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NIV):
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

On Saturday, March 14th, we were delighted to present to the Temple Academy Preschool some storybook quilts for the kids' storytime. These adorable quilts were made by members Rita Davis, Glenda Alvin, and Sheila Hopkins Philip Gravely. The director of the preschool, Dr. Rita Blue, accepted the quilts on their behalf.

This year we invited other crafters, besides quilters, to join the ministry. Freida Crawley, a crocheter, is one of our newest members. She crocheted this lovely afghan based on the log cabin quilt block. Great job Freida and welcome to the ministry.

This afghan was shared with members at the October 14, 2023 meeting. At this meeting we discussed plans for sharing information about the ministry on October 28th, during the Pastor's Ministry Reboot Fair. We also prayed and tied a quilt for a Temple member who was dealing with health issues.
Come visit our table at the fair after each service on Sunday, October 28th.
