September 2026

A Thought from Pastor Bryson,

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

(Hebrews 13:8 NKJV)

By the grace of God, we are now in the month of September, the ninth month of the year. We can surely exclaim what a year it has been thus far.

So many changes have happened and are happening – but in spite of all the changes the Lord remains unchanged. His abilities have not and will not diminish. His love is not based on our worthiness or accomplishments. He is not fazed by all the challenges that life presents.

As a result, we should see ourselves standing on a solid foundation in this ever-shifting world. We are to live by our faith in Him. We are to nurture our spirits through the principles found in Scripture. We are to remain steadfast as we remember His faithfulness and His care for us as we live in this constantly changing world.

Find comfort in knowing that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Know for certain that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly, beyond all that we ask or think. In knowing Jesus, you will find that your world is not as unsteady as it may seem at times, because He never changes.

Thank you, Lord, for being my solid foundation in a world that is constantly changing.

August 2026

A Thought from Pastor Bryson,

“Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him. But the just shall live by his faith.”

Habakkuk 2:4 NKJV

Habakuk is one of my favorite books of the Old Testament. The prophet of God is struggling because his prayers to God aren’t being answered. Injustice was rampant and he had appealed to God for help, but there was no response. He was having a hard time dealing with silence from God.

God did eventually respond but not with the answer the prophet was expecting. In essence, God told him things would get worse before they get better. But they would get better, until then, God told him the just shall live by his faith (Habakkuk 1-2:4). The b part of verse 4 gives me much comfort as I observe all that is going on in the world today.

The just shall live by his faith. The “just” refers to those who have placed their faith in God. Our belief is in Him and what He has done through Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection for our benefit. Faith involves our having confidence in God through any and every circumstance we face in life. We are to never forget that we are righteous (or right with God) because of our faith in Jesus. We are to never forget that we are to live by our faith in Him.

As students of the Bible there are some basic truths we should know:

We live in a fallen world; things will never be completely right in this world.

God is in control no matter how chaotic things.

The Lord is coming again and when He comes, all this mess will be over.

But until He comes, we are to live by our faith in Him.

Our faith is strengthened as we:

Read, study, and apply principles found in Scripture to our daily living.

Remember what God has done, is doing, and is yet going to do.

Associate with like-minded people who love the Lord and His church, and who are living by their faith in Him.

Jesus didn’t promise a life free of problems, but He promises His “presence” always while we are on this faith journey.
