A Thought from Pastor Bryson,
“So God has given us both His promise and His oath. These two things are unchangeable, because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to Him for refuge can take new courage, for we can hold on to His promise with confidence This confidence is like a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls…” (Hebrews 6:18-19 NLT)
Hebrews 6:13-19 speaks of the promise God made to Abraham to bless him and cause his seed to multiply greatly. God made an oath to Abrahma and since God’s character and many are being tossed to and for, drifting off course. But for those of us who profess faith in Jesus, we are to be anchored because of His many promises to us. God has not changed and His word has not changed. If we keep our focus on Him, He will keep us steady as we maneuver our way through the varying storms of life.
An old song of the church has meaning in these turbulent times:
In times like these you need a Savior. In times like these you need an anchor; Be very sure, be very sure your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock! This Rock is Jesus…
In times like these you need the Bible, In times like these O be not idle; Be very sure, be very sure your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock! This Rock is Jesus, yes, He’s the One; This Rock is Jesus, the only One!
Remember, His promises serve as an anchor for our soul.
