Speaking in tongues
A Christian could have the Holy Spirit moving, and working in many ways in their life, and not speak with other tongues.
To speak with new tongues is available for every believer as well as other gifts.
If you know there is more that God has available for you, do these 3 things:
1) Hear anointed teaching on the subject. By this we receive light, understanding, and knowledge. Faith arises in your heart for the promises of God.
2) Ask God for it. Like children we can ask God for things, God will not give to someone else what He is unwilling to give to you.
3) Humble yourself. There is a hidden strength found in humility.
The wrong thing gets in our minds sometimes, and we later learn that it wasn’t God’s best. It could have been well meaning, or well intended, but some have never had a spilling over experience with the Holy Spirit.
Still, God desires to advance you in the Spirit. God desires to advance us all in the Spirit! Don’t let Pentecostals and Charismatics have all the fun!
Perhaps, something has been embedded in your subconscious that has blocked a blessing.
This brings us back to number one. Immerse yourself in sound, anointed teaching and study on the subject. This ensures that every stronghold is brought low and destroyed.
Press in for your own experience!
There is understanding in the Word, and there is knowledge.
The knowledge of Christ is experiential. It’s when the Word becomes alive to you and in you. We need an experience with Christ, so that we would know the author, rather than merely quoting scripture.
Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? (Luke 24:32)
I often say, we are believers on a journey with Christ. It’s a journey of transformation. It truly is exciting, fun, and adventurous.
What I’ve learned in walking with Jesus, is that it’s just you and Him. God desires a real relationship with you - a close, personal relationship, just you and Him.
I hope this encouraged you, be sure to share it with someone who needs to hear it.
Blessings,
Jesse Shamp.
