🔥 WHITEVILLE, THE MOVEMENT IS BEGINNING! 🔥

On August 20, 2026, something powerful began in Whiteville, Tennessee.

Four men said YES to mentorship. Four men said YES to making a difference. 🙌

The Volunteer Mentorship Initiative (VMI) at Whiteville officially launched with four new mentor/mentee relationships—and what makes this especially exciting is the local involvement behind it:

👊 Clyde Hand — a longtime Men of Valor volunteer
⛪ Timothy Boyd — a local pastor
🚒 Joseph Strickland — a brand-new volunteer from the local fire department
🤝 Adam Rimmer — joining this team to help build relationships and change lives

This is what happens when a community comes together with one goal: to put the Kingdom of God first and invest in the lives of men.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” — Matthew 6:33

The goal isn't complicated.

Show up. Build a relationship. Listen. Encourage. Point men toward Christ. Walk alongside them as they prepare for a new beginning.

And the impact can reach far beyond one man—it can reach his family, his community, and generations to come. 🙏

YOU CAN BE PART OF THIS MOVEMENT.

VMI IMPACT STORY | FROM PRISON TO A NEW BEGINNING 🙏➡️🌱

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.” — Matthew 6:33

On September 1, 2021, Tanner gave his life to Jesus.

What happened next is a powerful picture of what God can do when a man is surrounded by other men who are willing to invest in his life.

While incarcerated, Tanner had the opportunity to serve alongside his prison chaplaincy team, where mature men of faith poured into him and helped him grow spiritually.

As his release approached, Tanner knew he wanted to continue surrounding himself with godly men who would encourage him and challenge him to keep growing.

Then he found Men of Valor.

“Men of Valor opened its doors to me, and I couldn’t feel more at home. I’m grateful for how welcoming and encouraging everyone at The Ridge has been. I’m excited about what the Lord is doing here and what’s to come. Praise God!”

THIS is what mentorship is about. ❤️

It’s about walking alongside a man while he’s incarcerated, encouraging his faith and growth—and then continuing that relationship as he steps into life beyond prison.

That’s the heart of Tennessee’s Volunteer Mentorship Initiative (VMI): men investing in men, building relationships, offering encouragement, and reminding them that they don’t have to walk this road alone.

One man.
One relationship.
One life changed.
One ripple that can impact a family and an entire community. 🌊

ONE VISIT. ONE SEED. 57 YEARS OF RIPPLE EFFECTS. 🙏

This man received a visit while he was in prison.

At the time, it may have seemed like just one person showing up for one man.

But that visit planted a seed of hope—and 57 years later, the ripple effects of that simple act of faithfulness are STILL changing lives. 🌱➡️❤️

That’s the power of showing up.

That’s the power of mentorship.

And that’s the power of believing that no man is beyond the reach of God’s grace.

HEAVEN IS REJOICING! 🙌🏽💦

“I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents…” — Luke 15:7

PRAISE GOD! 🙌🏽

Just days after moving into our new Men of Valor Workforce Development & Ministry Center, we had the incredible privilege of witnessing three of our men publicly declare their faith in Jesus Christ through baptism!

Three men buried the old and rose from the water proclaiming NEW LIFE IN CHRIST. ✝️💦

Standing together in worship, surrounded by our Men of Valor family, as these men took this step of faith and obedience was a moment we will not soon forget.

Scripture tells us that heaven rejoices over ONE sinner who repents… so we can only imagine the celebration in heaven over THREE! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

And what a beautiful reminder of the mission Jesus has entrusted to all of us:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them…” — Matthew 28:19

This is why we do what we do. Not simply to see lives improved, but to see lives transformed by the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

New building.
New beginnings.
New life.
Same faithful God. 🙏🏽

And we believe this is only the beginning. Many more to come!

Grateful to Have a Seat at the Table. 🙏🏽

Several members of the Men of Valor staff were honored to be present at the Governor’s Residence for this special gathering celebrating the continued growth of the Volunteer Mentorship Initiative (VMI).

We are grateful to stand alongside the Tennessee Department of Correction, fellow Implementation Partners, volunteer mentors, and community leaders who share a common vision: helping men successfully transition from incarceration back into their families and communities through the power of relationship.

At Men of Valor, we believe second chances require people willing to show up. Mentorship gives us the opportunity to walk alongside a man inside the prison walls and continue cultivating that relationship as he steps into his second chance beyond them.

We are humbled to play a part in this statewide initiative and excited about what God will do through the men who simply say, “YES, I’ll mentor.”

One man. One relationship. One second chance at a time. 💪🏽

THE CONFERENCE IS OVER… NOW LET’S WALK IT OUT. 💪🏽

What an incredible Saturday at the Nashville Men’s Conference at Belmont’s Curb Event Center!

Men of Valor was blessed to have 99 attendees representing our ministry—including current Discipleship Academy students from both our Nashville and Knoxville campuses, along with members of our staff. What a powerful sight to see our men worshiping, learning, and growing together in a room filled with more than 4,400 men!

Our men and staff were encouraged, challenged, and empowered by God-fearing leaders including Joby Martin, Robby Gallaty, and Jonathan Pokluda, with special guest Drew Parker. We are grateful for men who boldly challenge other men to follow Jesus—not simply with their words, but with their lives.

But here is the challenge for all of us:

We cannot leave a conference inspired and remain unchanged.

Scripture reminds us, “Do not merely listen to the word… Do what it says.” — James 1:22

Men of Valor was honored to be present and share with more than 4,400 men a tangible opportunity to put their faith into ACTION.

Walk the walk. Don’t merely talk about it.

We are especially grateful for every man who accepted that challenge and signed up to become a mentor through the Volunteer Mentorship Initiative, under the Tennessee Governor’s Faith-Based and Community Initiative.

These men are choosing to step inside Tennessee prisons and begin building relationships that can help change the trajectory of another man’s life—relationships we pray will continue beyond the prison walls and into successful reentry, restored families, and transformed communities.

A PRAYER NEARLY 30 YEARS IN THE MAKING 🙌🏽

We invite our Men of Valor ministry partners to celebrate a major milestone with us!

Since 2006, we have prayed and planned for a ministry center where our students, staff, volunteers, ministry partners, and community could come together. And now, by God’s incredible faithfulness, that prayer has become a reality.

One truth stood at the center of our celebration:

“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” — Psalm 127:1

We were also reminded that morning of God’s Word that says,

“I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.” 2 Chronicles 7:16

“By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its room are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.” Proverbs 24:3-4

But this building is so much more than brick, stone, offices, and classrooms. It represents a place where lives will be transformed, relationships restored, men discipled, families strengthened, volunteers equipped, and second chances made possible through Jesus Christ.

To every donor, volunteer, church, community partner, staff member, and friend who has prayed, served, given, encouraged, and believed in this ministry: THANK YOU. You are part of this story.

And the story is far from finished.

We will be moving into the new facility this week and we look forward to an open house later this fall. Stay tuned for the invitation.

God continues to do the things that only He can do.

To Him be ALL the glory! 🙌🏽

🔥 NASHVILLE MEN’S CONFERENCE — WE’RE READY! 🔥

The Men of Valor booth is set, the tickets are ready, and tomorrow thousands of men will gather at the Belmont Curb Event Center for the Nashville Men’s Conference! 💪🏽🙌🏽

But my prayer tonight is about so much more than filling an arena.

I’m praying that God fills hearts, stirs men, and calls us into action.

Tomorrow, men will worship together, hear the Word together, and be challenged together. There will also be ministries and organizations throughout the arena offering opportunities for men to take what God is doing inside of them and put it into action outside of themselves.

At Men of Valor, we will be there with one very specific invitation:

MEN, WE NEED MEN TO MENTOR MEN.

There are men sitting inside Tennessee prisons who need someone willing to walk alongside them, disciple them, encourage them, hold them accountable, and remind them that their past does not have to determine their future.

Through our new Volunteer Mentorship Initiative (VMI) and our D-Groups inside the prisons, men have an opportunity to step beyond simply talking about discipleship and actually live it.

You don’t have to have all the answers.

You don’t have to be a pastor.

You don’t have to have a perfect story.

You simply need to be a man willing to say, “Here I am, Lord. Use me.”

So tonight, would you pray with me? 🙏🏽

Pray for every man walking through those doors tomorrow. Pray for every ministry and organization represented. Pray that God connects men with the place He is calling them to serve. And please pray specifically for Men of Valor—that God would send men to our booth whose hearts are ready to step into the prisons and help us bring faith, hope, love, and discipleship behind the walls.

Tomorrow isn’t simply about 4,000 men gathering in one place.

It’s about what happens when those 4,000 men leave that place on mission. 🔥

“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” — Proverbs 27:17
