that is what drives us to and “BE UNITED”. At NFUMC, we enjoy a multi-generational and diverse church family where children, youth, adults, and seniors worship together in a beloved community and influence each other to be fully devoted followers of Jesus. Consistent with our Wesleyan beliefs, all people are welcome and respect runs deep in our
congregation as we are the Body of Christ. As individuals in any group, we do not always agree on every belief, but our hearts are aligned in our love and pursuit of Jesus together. We are Christ-centered and focus on providing hospitality and welcome to all, experiencing passionate worship, and engaging in intentional faith development, missions, and service bound together by extravagant generosity. Join us for a new sermon series tomorrow!

“Pressing On” seems to be our normal mode these days. We are overwhelmed with changes, overrun with failures, overruled by objections. It seems as though every step is an uphill climb. Yet, we press on. There are tasks to perform and goals to reach; there are people to lead and a kingdom to build. Is this how we understand pressing on— checking off our lists of accomplishments? Certainly, a task-oriented approach can be fruitful in our ministry. What we do as individuals and as a church community is important. It could also be exhausting for each and for all, which is why pressing on is multidimensional. Yes, there are tasks to perform; yes, there is doing involved; but the doing grows out of being the body of Christ. We can pay attention to who we are, even as we engage in what we do.

Moses had taken on the responsibility of leading God’s people, but he was trying to carry it all by himself. His father-in-law Jethro saw what Moses couldn’t: the work was too much for one person. Sometimes faith means recognizing that we weren’t meant to do everything alone.

This week, we’ll reflect on the importance of sharing the work, trusting others, and making room for the gifts God has given each of us. When we share the load, we don’t simply make the work lighter—we build a stronger, more faithful community together.

Standing between the Red Sea and the army of Pharaoh, the Israelites had nowhere to turn and no clear way forward. Yet God was already making a way where there seemed to be none. What looked like an impossible situation became a powerful reminder of God’s grace, protection, and faithfulness.

This week, we’ll reflect on the grace that meets us when we feel trapped, overwhelmed, or uncertain. Sometimes we can’t see the path ahead—but God is already at work, leading us forward and making a way.
