Bellshire UMC Sunday 11:00 am - Worship |
Sunday School follows service Wednesday Noon Bible Study We are about being the faithful, loving, hopeful body of Christ.

We often miss our mark, still God is patiently faithful and graciously loving to form us and use us. Our hope is to be a means of God’s love in our world. As God continually nurtures and transforms us, we are continually filled with hope for a world that will be filled with the loving-kindness of Jesus Christ. To that end, we at Bellshire Church faithfully live our faith, love our neighbors, and believe in God’s desire for this world we share.

Lessons: Our Methodist Hymn Composers

Have you ever wondered about the backstory of some of your favorite Methodist Hymns?

Join us on Sunday morning, November 30th, at 11:00 for a special program. Terry Coats, Dan Justice, and Bobby Phillips will present a program in lessons and hymns.

Featured will be hymn composers, Isaac Watts (When I Survey the Wondrous Cross), Charles Wesley (Come Thou Long Expected Jesus, For a Thousand Tongues to Sing), F***y Crosby (Blessed Assurance), Horatio Spafford (It is Well With My Soul), and John Newton (Amazing Grace).

So many know that Newton was a slave ship captain, but did you know that his conversion was not an overnight event, and he relapsed several times? That there are eight deaths associated with the Spafford hymn, It is Well with my Soul? That F***y Crosby was blind from age six weeks, and she met almost every US president alive during her lifetime?

If you would like to learn more about these and other interesting facts associated with these composers, join us for this special program.

Peace and blessings.

May 2024 - ! Praying Together with the 31-Day Prayer Challenge

You are invited to join a prayer movement. From May 1st through the 31st Bellshire United Methodist Church and Beech Grove United Methodist Church are inviting you to pray with us in partnership with Cross Vocational and the leadership of our pastor, Rev. Linda Furtado.

This 31-Day Prayer Challenge is about working together to engage in a tangible practice of daily prayer. We will walk this walk every day with many of our needs in mind including: the larger body of Christ, collective minds for Christ, passions of the faithful, needs of each individual, and love of neighbor and the needs of others within and beyond our churches and ministry contexts.

If you want to be part of this journey, sign-up is $0 or Pay What You Want. You can learn more and connect to the online resource at https://www.crossvocational.org/let-us-pray
