Friends, neighbors and family, please excuse my current silence online. This weekend my cellphone jumped up and demanded a password from me. Never used on on my cellphone. However, I have six pages of passwords for various applications online for family, friends, church members, Marines, and whoever.
It has taken me this long, Tuesday night just to get into my computer Facebook account. So I hope as many of you as possible will see this message.
Now...I can receive phone calls on my cellphone, just can't make them, or send/receive messages. This will take a while to work out. Local cellphone repair shops advise buying new phone. May have to do that.
Tomorrow, July 10th is my wife Merilyn's 80th birthday. Won't be doing anything else but that. My age is 83 and that may have a lot to do with how I got in this communications jam!
But if you need me, call me. Will have the cranky cell phone with me. God bless y'all. Miss y'all.

I currently have 466 people asking me to approve them as friends. I do! But Facebook tells me I've reached the 5,000 friends limit. So hang on. Have to go thru and delete some of those who have passed on. Now I'm 82, seems like I'm losing friends daily, so, hey y*all, don't go anywhere!

The Sound of Freedom, the low-budget faith-based drama about battling child trafficking released last July, has reached another milestone, topping more than $250 million at the global box office.

BoxOfficeMojo.com released its latest list of the Top Lifetime Grosses of movies by MPAA Rating on Jan. 17. Sound of Freedom, the Angel Studios film, currently ranks at 151, and amazingly is only behind perennial favorite Dances with Wolves (released in 1990) by a little more than $30,000 in ticket sales.

According to the list, Sound of Freedom has so far made more at the worldwide box office in the last six months overall than major studio films like Batman Forever (1995), The Fugitive (1993), Ocean's Eleven ( 2001), The Simpsons Movie (2007), Lincoln (2012), and even Jurassic Park III (2001).

As CBN News reported, Sound of Freedom opened on the Fourth of July as a summer surprise to critics, and it has continued to stun Hollywood with its overwhelming success. The film finished number one on opening weekend, number two on its second weekend, and then finished at number three on its third weekend.

Earlier this month, the movie also finished in the top 10 grossing movies of 2023 with a total box office of $184,177,725, edging out popular favorites like Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, and Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, according to BoxOfficeMojo.

Sound of Freedom was an overwhelming hit with the theater-going audience too, racking up a 99% audience ranking.

The film is about the true story of former government agent Tim Ballard who quit his job to go and rescue a little girl from s*x traffickers in the Colombian jungle. In the process, Ballard ends up saving 123 people, 55 of whom were children, from one mission alone.

A Berkeley professor demonstrates his stupidity

Robert Reich is a professor at Berkeley, former federal official, likes to post zings on any thought he considers Conservative/Far Right. Recently posted that the way to confuse such bad people is to ask them to even define four terms they only use in word games to polarize everyone and demonize the good people.

Well, nice try, Dr. Reich, but it turns out there are actually a whole bunch of people just as intelligent and educated as you, and Dr. Jordan Peterson is one such. He immediately posted the following commentary. (To be sure, others might express these definitions slightly differently, but these are really excellent definitions.)

Woke: A pseudo-intellectual pastiche of postmodern and neo-Marxist tropes, dedicated to the idea that categories themselves do nothing but privilege and oppress;

Critical Race Theory: The proposition that all differences in outcome by race, ethnicity or virtually any other identifiable group difference are a consequence of systemic, conscious and unconscious prejudice on the part of the privileged (see Woke);

Cancel culture: The widespread utilization, primarily on the left, of female-typical patterns of antisocial behaviour such as reputation savaging, gossip, innuendo, mobbing and exclusion to isolate, demoralize and destroy political or personal enemies;

Socialism: a political/economic system which when applied anywhere, ideally or badly, immediately destroys wealth, while failing utterly to remediate inequality; alternatively, the political expression of envy disguised as compassion.
