The NBA WMU links together those persons wanting to reach the world for Christ through Missions as we are commanded in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20 and Acts 1:8). We also believe that to do missions one must learn about missions through various avenues, including Weeks of Prayer Emphases (Golden Offering for TN Missions, Annie Armstrong (Easter) for North American Missions, Lottie Moon (
Christmas) for International Missions), preparation for mission trips, gatherings for the purpose of age-level appropriate missions education and participation in a WMU Ministry. Our age-level appropriate Missions Education opportunities include (possible in your church):

The term missions is the work of God through His people—the church—by which the gospel of Jesus is extended in word and deed to all the people in the world. For followers of Christ, missions is an integral part of being a believer. WMU is a channel in a church that can help them find their way. Throughout the Bible, God’s desire and instruction for His people is that they be involved in His mission of making Himself known among all nations. For churches interested in growing and strengthening Christ followers through missions education, WMU offers ongoing missions organizations and approaches for girls, women, and coed groups in all age levels. Six Areas of Missions Focus:
• Pray for missions.
• Engage in mission action and witnessing.
• Learn about missions.
• Support missions.
• Develop spiritually toward a missions lifestyle.
• Participate in the work of the church and the denomination. (copied from http://www.wmu.com/index.php?q=missions-leader/missions-involvement/wmu-church)
