Corona Virus has no boundaries it would seem...
•In as quickly as 14 days we went from having responsibility to caring for over 800 kids every week through our feeding program and primary school to having around 100 left in our charge as we have ordered to stay at our homestead/base/farm as Corona makes its way through Uganda.•
•We have, in many ways, become an orphanage overnight. As the first act of our new quarantine lives we decided to feed the surrounding village who are already reeling from the affects COVID19 has on the slow economy in Eastern Uganda.•
•To those of you who’ve stuck with us for years seeing into these kids and especially to those of you who have decided to give in the face of the recent uncertainty to your own lives, thank you! •
•While the timing to care for any child is rarely financially convenient, this time across the world is particularly unique in that we may never again get a chance to see into people with our finances in the face of uncertainty and exercise raw faith. •
•It’s easy to give when you have more than enough but when you have little your gift is the widow’s mite and carries more weight than gold. In truth, I used to hate sayings like this and called these posts and descriptions manipulative.•
•Now being on the other side of this scenario I see clear as day that when the walker is pinched you truly see where someone’s heart and values are.•
•Consider praying for and helping any of these kids even in such a time as this. •
• As always, Given gives 100% of its donations directly to the children in our care. No overhead, no wondering where your money went.
Praying for us all. @ Uganda
