First United Methodist Church Kid's Club Kid's Club is an afternoon program held on Wednesdays from 3-5 for grades K-6th with many activities to help children dig deeper into the word of God.

Last week we continued on in our study of the 10 Commandments God commands his people not to steal. Judas, one of Jesus’ disciples, is the treasurer
for the group. Instead of being responsible with the money, he secretly steals some for himself and then criticizes a woman who gives generously to Jesus, saying she’s being wasteful.
Bible Point: We don’t steal.

Yesterday’s lesson was on the 4th Commandment to Remember the Sabbath Day by Keeping it Holy. Our lesson came from Exodus 20:8-11; Genesis 2:1-3. Our Bible lesson did a great job of demonstrating how very busy we are during the week ( we did push ups while singing the National Anthem, jogged while doing math, jumping jacks while spelling and making our beds, and vacuumed while hopping on one foot) we were exhausted and needed a day to rest and to have a special day just for God! We made a fun craft and enjoyed some Bingo since we could not go outside. Kid’s Club will not meet next week. Stay healthy and enjoy your Mid-Winter Break!

This week in Kid’s Club we continued our study on the 10 Commandments. Our Bible lesson came from Exodus 20:4-6 and 2 Kings 23:1-20 when King Josiah goes from place to place smashing and burning idols. In recreation we worked very hard to destroy our balloon idols. Some were more difficult to destroy then others! In craft we worked on our 10 Commandments book and made magnets.

It was great to be back at Kid’s Club this week! We have started a series of lessons on the 10 Commandments. This week’s focus was on putting God first in our lives. Our Scripture lesson came from Exodus 20:2-3; Acts 17:16-34.

This week in Kid’s Club we finished up our series of lessons on The Lord’s Prayer. The lesson focus was that saying sorry is a part of prayer. Our Bible lesson came from Psalm 51 and Mathew 6:12-13. In craft we made Lord’s Prayer puzzles and we had a fun object lesson showing that once when we are sorry and ask God for forgiveness He forgives us and the sin is washed away.

We have such an amazing group of kids at Kids Club. I love spending Wednesday afternoons with them! This week we continued our lessons on the Lords Prayer and learned that asking is a part of prayer.
