On Sept. 8, 1986, the readers of the Tennessee Register flipped to page seven of the latest issue and were greeted with the headline “On the ‘glorious dream’” by Mary Margaret Lambert.

That first article marked the beginning of an ongoing 40-year journey of Lambert sharing her voice of Tennessee Catholic life with the faithful of Middle Tennessee, while maintaining a level of humor, honesty, and faith.

During fiscal year 2025-2026, Catholic Charities' Loaves and Fishes served 48,772 meals to neighbors experiencing hunger, and 5,893 food boxes across three locations were distributed to families facing food insecurity.

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Nashville is seeking more volunteers to help with its Hunger Relief Services.
