Early Life:
Terry Taylor, acclaimed author of the inspiring book "Godly Integrity:
7 Essential Ingredients," has overcome a tumultuous past marred by
addiction, homelessness, and despair. Born and adopted into a loving
family in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Terry's life took shape within a
supportive environment. Excelling in academics, sports, and music, he
proved himself as a bright and talented student. Terry played on hit
records, toured Europe as a US Ambassador with the United States
Collegiate Wind Band, became an Eagle Scout, was the SE Regional Cadet
Commander of the Civil Air Patrol and was inducted into the United
States Hall of Fame for Music... ALL before graduating High School.
Career:
Passionate about music, Terry embarked on a career in the Music
Industry, starting at Muscle Shoals Sound. Today, he continues to
pursue his love for music. Additionally, Terry's professional journey
led him to the realm of marketing, where he made his mark as the
Director of Marketing at Golden Flake, a prominent snack food company
in the Southeastern United States. However, a significant shift
awaited him as he embraced radio broadcasting. Each step along the
way, Terry's morning shows achieved number one ratings in various
markets, including Florence and Birmingham, Alabama, Atlanta,
Greenville, SC, and Nashville, TN. His talents transcended radio, as
he also served as a television weather anchor and sports commentator on the Clemson Radio Network. In Nashville, Terry initially hosted a morning show before transitioning to a nationally syndicated talk show that
captivated millions of listeners nationwide.
Downfall:
Despite his accomplishments, Terry's life took a dark turn when a car
accident occurred while he was under the influence of alcohol and
co***ne. Tragically, his drug dealer was in the car as well, resulting
in a devastating crash that nearly claimed Terry's life. The accident
left him wheelchair-bound for 18 months, plunging him into bitterness,
addiction, and homelessness. Stripped of everything he had worked for, Terry found himself destitute on the streets of Atlanta, relying on
panhandling to survive. He reached rock bottom, enduring a stint in
prison and even attempting su***de. Countless rehabilitation centers
and psychiatric wards followed, but hope seemed elusive.
Recovery:
In the face of adversity,
Terry's life took a miraculous turn through divine intervention.
Surrendering himself to God, he witnessed a gradual transformation as
he embraced the seven essential ingredients of Godly Integrity
detailed in his book. As Terry beautifully expresses, "Godly Integrity
is not something you are born with or inherit; it is a daily choice
and a lifelong commitment."
Current Projects:
Today, Terry resides in Nashville and operates businesses in North
Alabama and Nashville.. An accomplished entrepreneur, speaker, author, and life coach, he remains passionate about sharing his story and helping others conquer their challenges to achieve their dreams.
As the founder of Godly Integrity Ministries, Terry leads an
organization dedicated to supporting individuals grappling with
addiction, homelessness, and mental health issues. Additionally, he
hosts the Godly Integrity Radio Network, a podcast where
he imparts insights and teachings on the seven ingredients of Godly
Integrity.
