It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved sister, Ms. Carlene Douglas.

The Passing of Former Department of Christian Education Office Administrator Ms. Carlene L. Douglas

It is with great sadness that we share that our former Mission Volunteer in Christian Education and Office Administrator, Ms. Carlene L. Douglas, has passed.

Ms. Douglas served faithfully in this role from 2016-2022. Her former professional knowledge and experience in finance and business benefited her work in the department. Additionally, for part of this time, she served as coordinator of the Writer’s Guild of the AME Church Department of Christian Education as well as coordinator and editor of the church school curriculum development work and the Daily Spiritual Vitamins. Her writing gifts were shared in many ways across the denomination.

She was a founding member of Kairos Community AME Church in Nashville, TN. She is survived by a daughter, Desiree, and a beloved grandson, Christian, as well as siblings and a host of relatives, loved ones, friends, and former colleagues.

We lift prayers of peace and comfort for her family and loved ones. May she rest in peace to rise in power and glory!
