The Tomb is Empty: Matthew 28

Matthew 28 tells the glorious account of the resurrection of Jesus. The women come to the tomb and find it empty, the angel declares that Jesus has risen, and Jesus appears to His followers. The chapter closes with the Great Commission, where Jesus sends His disciples out to make disciples of all nations.

This chapter reminds us that the story does not end at the cross. Jesus is alive, and because He lives, we have hope.

That uneasy feeling before doing something wrong is not something to ignore. Your conscience is one of the ways God warns, corrects, and protects you.

Rest in the Tomb: Matthew 27

Matthew 27 takes us through the trial, suffering, crucifixion, death, and burial of Jesus. In this chapter, we see Jesus delivered to Pilate, mocked by the soldiers, led to Golgotha, and crucified. The chapter also records the darkness over the land, the death of Christ, and His body being placed in the tomb.

This chapter helps us reflect on the great sacrifice Jesus made and the weight of the cross during Holy Week.

Today’s reading: Matthew 26

Now we come into the deeper sorrow and weight of Holy Week. Matthew 26 brings us close to the betrayal, the prayer in Gethsemane, and the beginning of Christ’s suffering.

Read this chapter slowly today. Let your heart reflect on the love and obedience of Jesus as He submitted Himself to the Father’s will.

Holy Week is a time to remember that our salvation was not casual. It was costly. And Jesus willingly gave Himself for us.

Today’s reading: Matthew 25

As we move deeper into Holy Week, Matthew 25 reminds us to live awake, ready, and faithful. Jesus was preparing His people for what was coming, calling them to live with wisdom and purpose.

Read Matthew 25 today and reflect on what it means to be ready for the Lord, faithful in what He has given you, and loving toward others in His name.

Holy Week invites us not just to remember Jesus’ final days, but to respond to Him with faithful hearts.

Today’s reading: Matthew 24

As Holy Week continues, Matthew 24 reminds us to stay watchful, grounded, and faithful. Jesus was preparing His followers not only for what was coming soon, but also for the greater hope still ahead.

This week is a sacred reminder that our faith is anchored in Christ alone. Read Matthew 24 today and reflect on the call to be ready, steadfast, and full of trust in the Lord.

Your choices are shaping your direction.
Little by little, day by day, the decisions we make matter more than we realize.
Every step is leading somewhere.

If this message speaks to you, take a moment and ask yourself:
What direction is my life headed?

Today’s reading: Matthew 23, Confrontation with the Jewish authorities

Holy Week calls us to examine our hearts. As Jesus drew closer to the cross, He spoke clearly and boldly, calling out empty religion and pointing people back to what truly matters.

Read Matthew 23 today and let it remind you that this week is not just about remembering events, but about drawing near to God with sincerity, humility, and repentance.

As we walk through Holy Week, may our hearts be genuine before the Lord.

Today’s reading: Matthew 22, Cleansing the Temple

As we continue through Holy Week, we are reminded that Jesus was not simply moving through ordinary days. He was walking steadily toward the cross with full knowledge of what was ahead.

Read Matthew 22 today and reflect on the wisdom, authority, and truth of Christ during these final days before His crucifixion. Even as opposition grew, Jesus remained faithful to the mission He came to fulfill.

This Holy Week, let us slow down and remember that every step Jesus took was taken in love for us.
