Nashua Presbyterian Church Nashua Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) We rejoice in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

We, the members of the Nashua Presbyterian Church, believe in one all powerful God, who creates us, loves us, and saves us through His grace, which is manifest in the sacrifice of his son, Jesus Christ. We are grateful to God for bringing us together from distant locations, with varied backgrounds and views. We are committed to being a warm and welcoming family, caring for each other and offering

assistance to those in need. We are dedicated to participation in local mission and broader outreach through the connectional nature of the world wide programs of the PC (USA). We are confident that by worshiping, praying, working,
studying, and enjoying fellowship, with a strong faith in God’s love, that we can nourish one another, learn to live by Jesus’ example, help others, and spread the good news of the gospel.

Holy One, let your Spirit, our Advocate, guide us—preserving us from judgment, protecting us from sin, and leading us into righteousness, so that we may testify to the good news: fullness of life and joy for all; through Jesus Christ our Savior and in the unity of the Holy Spirit.

Compassionate One, with humble hearts, we ask for strength, wisdom and compassion to care for all your children. Guide us as we help our neighbors in need so that all can “abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places” (Isaiah 32:18).

This Religious News Service photograph was snapped during the 1951 “Battle Night Services” held at the Old North Church in Boston, where, every year on April 18, they hold traditional services in commemoration of Paul Revere’s famous 1775 ride. Prior to the service, signal lanterns are hung in the 175-foot tower of the church. Walking down the aisle on his way to the tower with two lanterns held aloft is Henry D. Chapin, who the caption says is “a direct descendent of the Revolutionary hero.”

The Old North Church was built in 1723 with cement and brick brought over from England, making it the second oldest building in Boston. “The steeple, which is mentioned in all American history books, is now covered with the names of visitors from all over the world,” shares the caption. The chandelier hanging above Chapin’s head was taken from a French vessel by the privateer “Queen of Hungary” and presented to the church in 1746.
