Lots of flexibility needed so far on this trip. Short term mission trips are a microcosm of life. Everyone reading this can testify of how the plans they made were not the plans that played out. We start every mission trip at entrance D surrendering our plans to God. He smiles at that. He is in control of our plans before we surrender them but it’s good for us to hear ourselves admit that we’re really not in control of most of our lives.
Our team has spent 2 nights in hotels we didn’t plan on spending in. But we’ve had so many encounters with people, waiting for flights, hotel staff, airline staff and many more.
Our prayer is that we embrace the place God has is in and shine the light of Christ everywhere we go.
Our plans may have changed, but God’s plan for us didn’t so here we go.
We leave ANC in a couple hours and Lord willing, we will be in Noatak early this afternoon.

NMC’s Men’s Ministries is pumped to share about this fall at Man Church. We will be studying many of the Old Testament stories with the goal of pointing out how each life points to Jesus. There is a great line up of teachers for this series as Terry Bley kicks things off Aug. 26 by looking at Adam and Eve followed by Brad Brail and Dr. Dennis Engbrecht teaching on Moses and Abraham.

Mark your calendars for this years annual Cruise in which will be Sept. 16.

NMC’s adult ministries will start the year with a time of prayer Aug. 19 where we will gather together as a unified body committing ourselves and this ministry to God.

Aug. 12 will be our annual baptism service on the hill. If you haven’t been baptized Let’s Go! It’s time to tell your community where you stand and who you’ve surrendered your life to.

NMC is joining our partner Bethel University July 28-31. We will be helping with maintenance items like painting, landscaping and tree removal. If you have a chainsaw and like cutting stuff up with it, sign up for our work day July 31.

The Wilderness men are planning 3 days of hiking in the Grand Canyon at the Grand Canyon National
Park Village in Arizona, and (1/2) day of hiking in Sedona, Arizona. This is a new opportunity for men to get away to spend some time in nature as well as connect with one another. If you have any questions reach out to Mike Bessinger or Niel Diener.

Last week was a powerful time together as many men stood to acknowledge their need for the filling of the Holy Spirit. Tomorrow night at Man Church we will be focusing on what happens when the Holy Spirit is active in our lives. Join us at 6:45 for another powerful time together.

It probably wasn’t exactly like the picture of Ritchie and Niel but when Jesus sent the Holy Spirit into the lives of His followers their life changed forever. They were empowered to challenge theological traditions. Ordinary people were doing the miraculous and a movement that was started has been going for over 2,000 years. Join us Wednesday night at Man Church, 6:45pm in the Aux Gym at NMC. As we dig into Scripture and encourage one another to live out our faith. There’s a space waiting for you!
