Good morning.
Last night at sunset Rosh Hashanah began. This is the celebration of Jewish new year. In the Jewish world the day begins at sunset. It’s a wonderful image because as we are resting, the day is beginning and God has already started. In Scotland the last day of December is called Hogmanay. It’s a celebration people gather in the squares of their city or village and sing auld lang syne just after midnight folk 1st foot into their neighbors and friends houses for a wee Dram. In the Christian church, the first Sunday of advent begins the new church year. We have so many different types of New Year’s. Perhaps the most important part of the Judeo-Christian Faith is the new beginning every time we are forgiven may all your beginnings will be blessed with hope.

P.S. There is no service this Sunday, Sept. 28 due to Grape Festival 2025, the church doors however are open for those who wish to go in and pray.

Good afternoon,
Isaiah 65 verse 25 reads but they’ll all eat together like friends Wolf and lamb lion and ox and the biting snake will feed on dust when that day arrives. They’ll be no evil no violence no hurt or wrong in all my sacred mountain. What an incredible image. I think the frequency of people saying our world’s in a bad way might actually be increasing. I’m not sure. But many of the people who have that observation don’t make suggestions for correcting that course. I personally believe God is at work. I’m not sure I can identify specifics That show that work. I believe really strongly that I should trust God, but I’m not easy inside thinking I’m doing everything I can. How about you?
