Драги људи,
Срећан празник Успења Пресвете Богородице!
Као што сви знамо, до овог празника нас је довео пут молитве и поста. Кад год се интензивира молитва и пост, требало би да буду видљиви и резултати које доноси вежбање у врлини. Добра дела и старање за ближње су оно чему тежимо током поста.
Управо уочи празника једна породица је замолила за помоћ. У тешкој ситуацији у којој су се нашли, толико тога је повезано и са самим празником Успења Богомајке. Стога вас молим да заједнички покажемо плодове поста и молитве и добрим делом учествујемо о празнику који прослављамо а на утеху онима којима је потребна! Нека би Господ, молитвама своје Богомајке, благословио свако наше добро дело!

Dear brothers and sisters,
Blessed Feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos!
As we all know, the path that has brought us to this feast has been one of prayer and fasting. Whenever our prayer and fasting intensify, the fruits they bear through our practice of virtue should also become visible. Good deeds and care for our neighbors are what we strive for throughout the fast.
On the eve of this feast, a family reached out asking for help. In the difficult circumstances they are facing, so much is connected with the very feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God. Therefore, I ask you that, together, we show the fruits of our prayer and fasting by doing a good deed and thus participating in the feast we celebrate, while bringing comfort to those who are in need.
May the Lord, through the prayers of His Most Holy Mother, bless every good work we undertake!

Помаже Бог, драга браћо и сестре!

Надам се да сте сви провели дивно лето и да смо спремни за нове почетке и нове победе! Свим нашим школарцима, учитељима, наставницима, професорима, родитељима и породицама желим срећну, успешну и благословену нову школску годину!

Овом приликом шаљем и кратак распоред за недеље пред нама, а посебно вас све позивам да се ове недеље, 16. августа, окупимо у нашој цркви и заједнички се помолимо, призивајући благодат Светога Духа на све оне који ће се током предстојеће године трудити на пољу васпитања и образовања — како на оне који ће учити, тако и на оне који ће их подучавати.

Овом приликом ћемо се посебно помолити и за благослов наших школараца и просветних радника. Молимо наше школарце да понесу своје школске торбе и школски прибор на благослов, како би Господ благословио њихово учење, њихов труд и све оно што ће током ове године радити и чему ће се посветити.

Хајде да ову нову школску годину започнемо заједно, предајући све своје планове, труд и наде у руке Божије и молећи се да нас Господ укрепи, просвети и руководи на сваком нашем кораку.

Blessing of the Lord, dear brothers and sisters!

I hope you have all had a wonderful summer and that we are ready for new beginnings and new victories!

As we begin this new school year, I am sharing with you a brief schedule for the weeks ahead. I especially invite all our parish families to join us this Sunday, August 16, as we gather in prayer and call upon the grace of the Holy Spirit upon all those who will dedicate themselves to education and formation throughout the coming year—both those who will learn and those who will teach.

We will offer a special prayer and blessing for our students and educators. Students are encouraged to bring their school backpacks and school supplies to church to be blessed, so that the Lord may bless their studies, their work, and all their efforts throughout the year.

Let us begin this new school year together, placing all our hopes, efforts, and plans in God’s hands and asking Him to guide and strengthen us.

🤍 BEFORE YOU JUDGE, look within your own heart 🤍 It is easy to see the faults of another person. We see their mistakes, their weaknesses, their sins—and sometimes we forget how much mercy we ourselves need from God.

Christ does not tell us to pretend that right and wrong do not exist. He warns us against condemning the person who has fallen, as though we ourselves stand above them.

We rarely know the whole story of another soul. We don’t know their wounds, their struggles, their repentance, or what is happening between them and God.

The Orthodox Understanding

The saints were often hardest on themselves and most merciful toward others.The closer they came to God, the more clearly they saw their own sins—and the less desire they had to condemn someone else’s.

This is why repentance and humility are so important. Before looking at our neighbor’s failures, we should first look into our own heart and ask for God’s mercy.

The Bottom Line: Be careful with the measure you use for others.

One day, we will stand before the same God whose mercy we desperately need. Correct with love when necessary. Discern between good and evil. But leave the final judgment of another soul to Christ.

Pray for people more than you speak about their faults.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

One of our parish families is going through a difficult time. The beloved aunt of our dear parishioner and friend Miljana has reposed in the Lord, and the family is facing unexpected funeral expenses.

As members of the Body of Christ, we are called to “bear one another’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2). If you are able, please consider making a donation to help ease this financial burden during their time of grief. No gift is too small, and every act of generosity is a tangible expression of Christ’s love.

Most importantly, please keep the departed servant of God Jadranka and her family in your prayers, asking the Lord to grant her eternal rest and to comfort those who mourn.

May the Lord reward your kindness and mercy.
