Community Giftmart

Community Giftmart Giftmart partners with local schools to identify families with need. All proceeds are then donated to help fund their schools.

Donations from the community are used to offset the cost of toys, so families can buy quality items with dignity. The first Community Giftmart was held at Brady Elementary School in Aurora, IL, a school in a primarily Hispanic neighborhood with a high percentage of students from low-income households. Parents purchased a total of 1200 toys for $2 each, and that money was given to Brady School to p

urchase books for the school library. These events now serve families from 11 area elementary schools and last year raised over $16,000 for those schools. The Community Giftmart in Aurora, Illinois has served as a model for similar Giftmart events in the Chicago area and throughout the country. 2008 marked the start of a Giftmart in Joliet, Illinois and many more have followed. Often, churches that have partnered together in one location go on to start Giftmart locations of their own.
