Uganda Mission Team Update (Wednesday)
On Sunday, a VBC mission team set off for Uganda to serve alongside two of our ministry partners there.
Today, the team spent their first day of ministry at Hope High School - a school where 65 of our sponsored children attend.
The team met with these children in groups and taught them about God's blessing of s*x in marriage - and the importance of purity until then. Lots of good discussion.
Sponsors met with their sponsored children - some for the first time.
Letters and care packages were delivered from sponsors.
Games were played in groups, and time was spent building our relationships.
These students are pretty amazing. Some we have known for over 10 years and have seen them grow in stature and in their relationship with Jesus.
Students are all very fluent in English, as it is the official language for schools.
Please pray for our team:
Impact: Pray that the team would have a great impact. Tomorrow, they will meet with 51 of our younger elementary-aged students.
Pray for relationships to be strengthened, for the Gospel to be clear, and for the team and the children to both enjoy the blessing of being together.
Energy: The days are full of excitement and many great things, but they are also long and tiring. Pray that the team would sleep well and maintain their energy level.
Health: 1) Jim E. was not feeling well on Wednesday and had to stay back from most of the ministry. 2) Debbie F. fell and injured her shoulder yesterday. Pray for continued healing and for wisdom for the doctor who will assess her.
