Paul was stoned in Lystra. He was dragged outside the city and Left for dead.

On the return trip through those same cities, he told the new believers this: “Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.”

This was the historic pattern: prophets, apostles, martyrs. The kingdom has never advanced without cost. The early church didn’t grow despite suffering. It grew because of it.

If you’re in a hard season, take Paul at his word.

You’re not off course. This is the course.

They told Him to silence the crowd.

stop the praise.
quiet the noise.

But Jesus answered:

“I tell you, if these were silent,
the very stones would cry out.” (Luke 19:40)

Creation itself knows its King.

The rocks would do
what the religious leaders refused to do
recognize Him as Lord.

And the crowds?

They praised Him one moment…
and rejected Him the next.

But the Truth was not dependent on their praise

Jesus is King
whether He’s praised
or rejected.

The question isn’t
will He be declared King?

The question IS:
Will it be you
or the stones?

On Palm Sunday They cried “Hosanna”
Save us now.

Days later, they cried “Crucify Him.”

The crowd didn’t change on its own.
They were led there.

The religious leaders
those trusted to know God
stirred the people,
twisted the moment,
and rejected their own King.

They wanted control, not Christ.
Power, not truth.

And the crowd followed.

Nothing has changed.

Voices still shape crowds.
Truth is still traded for influence.
And many still reject Jesus
not because they’ve examined Him,
but because they’ve been led away from Him.

Grace means unmerited favor.

It means You can’t earn it.

And You don’t deserve it.

God gives salvation as a gift through Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

We were grateful to have known Rick, faithful man of God, a leader committed to conservative values. This is a great loss to our community but heaven's gain.

2 Corinthians 5:8

It is with the deepest sadness that we must report Mayor Rick Hogaboam experienced a medical emergency tonight and has passed away.

We ask the community to please keep his family and loved ones in your prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

As we begin to mourn this unbelievable loss, please provide grace while we navigate the loss of not only our Mayor, but also our friend.
