Huge shout out to ML Cort and Peg Curran from the Garden Club who have worked so hard to transform our little Garth for the club's Porch & Garden Tour on July 5. It's always been a lovely space but now even more so!

We were so lucky to have the Seaside Sirens join us this past Sunday. They sang two beautiful songs. Here is one of them.

NVC was very well represented in the Memorial Day parade. Rev Emily delivered beautiful prayers/benedictions at the ceremony at the Wharf and at the Town Hall. Thank you to those that joined her in the rainy weather so she wouldn’t have to march alone, Chris, Susanna, Natasha, Joshua, Matthew and Jen, Roxy and Chase. We were also joined at Town Hall by Roz, Chris, Ann and Pauline that I saw! It was such a special day.

It was a wet but wonderfulMemorial Day! Thanks to all who marched with us❤️🇺🇸

Parade updates

Good Evening,

Due to the forecasted weather conditions for tomorrow morning, the Nahant Memorial Day Committee has implemented the Inclement Weather Protocol for the 2026 Nahant Memorial Day Parade and Ceremonies.

The 11:00 AM Memorial Day Ceremony WILL be held indoors at Nahant Town Hall.

The Memorial Day Parade WILL still occur with any willing participants unless weather conditions tomorrow morning become unsafe.

At this time, the plan is as follows:

Willing parade participants should continue to report to the Lowlands area in the morning as previously scheduled.

A limited marching contingent and Sea Services Ceremony at Tudor Wharf may proceed depending on real-time weather conditions.

All other participants, guests, residents, bands, veterans, and attendees should proceed directly to Nahant Town Hall for the 11:00 AM Ceremony.

The ceremony at Town Hall will include:

Invocation and Benediction

Recognition of Veterans and honored guests

Governor’s Memorial Day Proclamation

Recitation of the Gettysburg Address

Reading of the names of deceased Veterans

Rifle salute, Taps, and Navy Hymn

Raising of the Colors to full staff

We appreciate the flexibility, professionalism, and continued commitment of all organizations and volunteers supporting Nahant’s Memorial Day observance. Most importantly, we remain committed to appropriately honoring the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Any additional updates tomorrow morning will be distributed through Town communication channels.

All are invited to gather at the Nahant Life Saving Station beginning at approximately 12:15pm, where the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, and the Town of Nahant will host a community collation in honor and remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation, while also providing an opportunity for fellowship and community following the Memorial Day ceremonies.

Please let me know if you have any questions
Respectfully,

Bob Fields
Veterans' Service Officer
