THE LORD GOD IS GOOD
(Psalms 34:8 AMP) "O taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trust in Him."
- recall last Bible Study: Noah Taught his family the fear of the Lord
Ps. 34: David talks about the fear of the Lord & how those who trust Him will not give without
v11: "come let me teach you the fear of the Lord."
v12-14: he teaches to keep from evil & pursue what is good
(1 Peter 2:1-3) "[1] Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, [2] as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, [3] if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good."
Pure milk of the word: refers to the fundamental, unadulterated teachings of the Bible that provide spiritual nourishment for believers to grow in faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ
Basic teaching: foundational truths & simple principles
Spiritual Nourishment: Just as milk is essential for a baby's physical growth, the Word of God provides the necessary sustenance for spiritual development.
Unadulterated Truth: The "pure" aspect signifies that it is free from human wisdom, false teachings, or religious dogma that could hinder spiritual growth.
Living Word: Beyond the written text, it can also be understood as the person of Jesus Christ, the "living word" whom believers should also yearn for.
Path to Growth: Consuming the "pure milk" helps believers grow in grace, faith, hope, and love, leading them to a fuller understanding of salvation.
