The Message of Easter:

1️⃣. GOD CREATED US TO BE WITH HIM

God loves us and created us to live in a relationship with Him.

2️⃣. THE PROBLEM: OUR SINS SEPARATE US FROM HIM

Our sin separates us from God because He's perfect and without sin.

Because God is righteous, He must ultimately judge sin. The result is death and separation from God.

✳️ “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned.” (Romans 5:12)

✳️ “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

GOD'S STANDARD IS PERFECTION

God is going to judge the world by the standard of the Ten Commandments, a standard of complete perfection from the day we were born till the day we die.

No matter how diligently we attempt to live a good life, we cannot meet the measure of holiness God requires. All it takes is one sin to separate us from God, because He is perfect and holy.

✳️ “Whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.”—James 2:10

✳️ “All our righteous acts are like filthy rags.” (Isaiah 64:6)

✳️ “There is no one righteous, not even one…” (Romans 3:10-12)

3️⃣. GOD'S BRIDGE: THE CROSS

Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for our sin.

God chose to provide a “sacrifice” for our sins, His own son Jesus. Through His death, Jesus took the punishment for our sin and bridged the gap between God and people.

✳️ “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

✳️ “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

✳️ “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” (1 Peter 3:18)

✳️ “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God.” (1 Corinthians 5:21)

THE RESURRECTION
Three days after Jesus died, he rose from the dead. This is not just religious hype; it is historical fact. And because Jesus rose from the dead, He now sits at the right hand of God making intercession (carrying messages for us and speaking to God on our behalf) for us.

✳️ “Christ died for our sins…He was buried…He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures…He appeared to Peter, then to the twelve (disciples). After that he appeared to more than five hundred others…” (1 Corinthians 15:3-6)

4️⃣. JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GOD

The Bible is clear; the only way to abundant, eternal life is through a relationship with Jesus Christ. God proved that He accepted Jesus’ death as the way to life by raising Jesus from the dead.

✳️ “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

5️⃣. OUR RESPONSE: RECEIVE JESUS AS SAVIOR AND LORD

We must individually receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior by personal invitation. We must invite him to be our leader and guide.

✳️ “Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12)

The Bible promises that when you ask God for forgiveness and trust in Jesus, you will experience new life in Christ.

✳️ “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

When we trust in Jesus alone to forgive our sins, He promises to give us abundant, eternal life.

✳️ “I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life.” (John 6:47)

The word “believe” means more than believing Jesus existed. It means “to trust in, to rely upon completely.”

When we let suffering es**rt us to the foot of the cross, we exchange our life—our pain...sorrow... weakness... weariness...and discontentment— for Christ's resurrection power. And there, we find true joy. We become one with Christ in His sufferings. He takes on our flesh and we take on His holiness. (See Hebrews 12:5-11).

With these three simple steps, your suffering can actually become an occasion for gratitude and thanksgiving.

Do you feel inadequate for what God has called you to do? Your inadequacy is part of why God chose you. Our weakness means that Christ's resurrection power becomes a requirement.

"God chooses the are-nots! Why? So that we can have no pride in our own ability! So that He gets all the glory!

Our weakness requires His resurrection power to function in its place. So not only can we not boast, but our service carries spiritual unction and anointing that wouldn’t be present otherwise.

If we could fulfill God’s call on our own, it would be mere performance of the flesh—but because God’s strength is being completed, accomplished, and fulfilled in our weakness, it’s a presentation of His power (see 2 Cor. 12:9-10).

Flesh doesn’t touch hearts or change lives. God’s power does. It’s part of His plan, then, that His power is a requirement to fulfill the calling!"

📌 "When we complain of our inabilities and weaknesses, we’re not just putting ourselves down. We’re putting down our Lord. We’re refusing to believe His Word." — David Wilkerson

Do you feel inadequate for a task to which God has called you? God chooses the weak, the lowly, the despised things of the world---the things that are not---to nullify the things that are.

As a Christ-follower, we can experience the power that raised Jesus from the dead!

This is how we can know God's comfort in the darkest of life's trials.

Because of Christ's resurrection power in us, we can have:

🔹Contentment in times of loss...
🔹Joy amid sorrow...
🔹Strength in debilitating weakness...
🔹Hope in seasons of relentless catastrophe...

May we know and live by this power!

♦️ "I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms." (Ephesians 1:19-20)

♦️ "Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think." (Ephesains 3;20)

♦️ “'My grace is sufficient for you... for My power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.' Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ ... may dwell in me.

So I am well pleased with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, and with difficulties, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak [in human strength], then I am strong [truly able, truly powerful, truly drawing from God’s strength]." (2 Corinthians 12:9-10, AMP)

✝️ Because of Christ's death and resurrection, weakness is actually an opportunity for us: ⤵️

Over the past few weeks, I have been revisiting a sweet truth I learned years ago: being weak is actually a wonderful opportunity...

Happy resurrection day! Jesus is alive! 🙌

Why does Jesus' resurrection matter to you today?

Because. . .

♦️ GOD CREATED US TO LIVE IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM. (Genesis 1,2)

He wants us to experience His peace and abundant life—today and throughout all eternity.

✳️ “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)

But many of us don’t have this peace and intimate relationship because something separates us from God—something we need His provision to overcome.

♦️ OUR SINS SEPARATE US FROM GOD

God created us to live in a relationship with Him, to love and know Him. He also gave us free will. He did not create us to be robots who would automatically love and obey Him. We chose to go our own way, to rebel against God, and we are still choosing this today. The Bible calls this “sin.”

Because God is holy and righteous, He must ultimately judge sin. The result is death and eternal separation from Him.

✳️ "The payment for sin is death, but the gift that God freely gives is everlasting life found in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

♦️ JESUS CHRIST IS GOD'S ONLY PROVISION FOR OUR SIN

God chose to provide a “sacrifice” for our sins, His own son Jesus. Jesus came to Earth, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross to pay the price for our sins.

✳️ “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” (1 Peter 3:18)

On the third day after Jesus died, He rose from the dead. This is not religious hype; it's historical fact. (See 1 Corinthians 15:3-6; Acts 1:3; Mt. 27:66; Luke 24:38)

God proved that He accepted Jesus’ death as the way to life by raising Jesus from the dead.

✳️ "Jesus was handed over to die for our sins, and he was raised from death to make us right with God." (Romans 4:25)

♦️ THE ONLY WAY TO ABUNDANT, ETERNAL LIFE IS THROUGH JESUS CHRIST

There are no other “paths” to God because nothing can atone for our sin except the blood of Jesus. We can come to God only one way—through Jesus and His sacrifice.

✳️ “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

✳️ “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Do you feel trapped in a perpetual season of waiting and loss where nothing makes sense?

Has God stripped you of everything you once were, including the ability to fulfill what you once thought was your God-given purpose?

📖 "I will cry to God Most High, Who performs on my behalf and rewards me [Who brings to pass His purposes for me and surely completes them]!” (Psalm 57:3, AMPC)

God is performing on your behalf. He has preserved you through this season for a reason—a purpose He has promised to fulfill.

He WILL bring to pass His purpose for this season of your life.

In fact, He's working in every detail of your life right now to complete His purposes for you.

What have you been fasting and praying about these 21 days? Regardless of whether you’re fasting about minor needs or a major problem with insurmountable odds, the next step for you is the same—that of praise.

It’s important that as we conclude the fast, we praise God. … That we praise Him for who He is—for His character, His faithfulness, His goodness, His holiness—but also that we praise Him for His answer, even if we haven’t seen it materialize yet.

We’ll see why it’s so important when we take a look at Judah’s fast, their act of praise, and what God did as a result.

When Judah faced an overwhelming army, they sought God's help through a fast. They praised God in advance...and He gave them a mighty victory! There is a connection between fasting and praise.
