Hello, I am Dayna Westbrook, a HAPPILY retired Teacher/Coach of 31 years. I am married to Steve and we have two great sons (Reed and Bryce), two amazing daughter in laws (Annabeth and Ellen) and 3 wonderful grandkids (Slayde, Hayes and Henry).
While growing up in Tyler, I never had a consistent church home and would occasionally attend church with my friends and their families. I didn’t realize what I was missing out on during some difficult times in my Jr. High and HS years. After moving to Nacogdoches (SFA), graduating college, getting married and starting a family we felt the need to find a church home. Our boys were 5 and 4 years old when we joined FUMC-Nac in 2000. Winston Goens was the pastor at that time and he baptized me on September, 3rd, 2000 when I was 31 years old.
We have felt welcomed and at home at FUMC-Nac since Day 1! We have seen many changes during our time here but it still feels like home. I love the Praise worship service at 8:45!!! The music just resonates with me possibly because of not being brought up in the church and more familiar with this music than the Traditional service music. I enjoy seeing the familiar faces at the early service and the casual attire. I just feel after the early service things are going to be ok. I feel lighter and more at ease. I have REALLY enjoyed all the opportunities available by way of First-Nac to give back to the community and to one another and see each other places other than just during church.
