Let's be clear. If you end up in a burning hell for all eternity, it won't be because you have a tattoo, or because you have a nose ring, or because you drink beer or smoke ci******es, or because you cuss, or because you spent time in prison. It won't be because you didn't do enough good deeds. It won't be because you didn't belong to the right church. It won't be because of that dumb thing you did that you don't want anybody to know about. It won't be because of what anyone else did to you. It will be because you refused to receive Jesus Christ (God the Son) as your personal Savior. He already paid for all the stupid stuff you have done and all the stupid stuff you are going to do when He died FOR YOU on the cross and rose again. He offers salvation as a free gift because, let's face it, if it was up to us to earn it, we would have no chance (We both know that, don't we?). The gift of salvation is there for you to receive. The decision is totally up to you. The price for your sins has been paid, the way to heaven for you has been made. If you end up in a burning hell for all eternity, you have no one to blame but yourself.

When we are born our life is programmed somewhat by those who raise us and counsel us as teachers...

The problem is that much of this influence is negative, either through wrong thinking, unfortunate events, harsh and harmful criticism, etc.

There is so much stinking thinking in our lives when we are lost, and we act accordingly.

Proverbs 23:7 "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he."
. . We are not what we think we are, but we are what we think.

When we repent of our sins and trust Jesus as our personal Savior, we receive a new identity.

2 Cor. 5.17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

The problem is we continue to think often times as we did when we were lost. We need to learn who we are in Christ - who we really are as Christians.

This is life changing.

Following is a list of who we are as a child of God.
It is a great study to help us become what God wants to be and enjoy.

I am the salt of the earth. (Matt. 5:13)

I am the light of the world. (Matt. 5:14)

I am a child of God. (John 1:12)

I am part of the true vine, a channel of Christ’s life. (John 15:1,5)

I am Christ’s friend. (John 15:15)

I am chosen and appointed by Christ to bear His fruit. (John 15:16)

I am a slave of righteousness. (Rom. 6:18)

I am enslaved to God. (Rom. 6:22
)
I am a son of God; God is spiritually my Father. (Rom. 8:14,15; Gal. 3:26; 4:6)

I am a joint heir with Christ, sharing His inheritance with Him. (Rom. 8:17)

I am a temple, a dwelling place of God. His Spirit and His life dwell in me. (1 Cor. 3:16; 6:19)

I am united to the Lord and am one spirit with Him. (1 Cor. 6:17)

I am a member of Christ’s Body. (1 Cor. 12:27; Eph. 5:30)

I am a new creation. (2 Cor. 5:17)

I am reconciled to God and am a minister of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:18,19)

I am a son of God and one in Christ. (Gal. 3:26,28)

I am an heir of God since I am a son of God. (Gal. 4:6,7)

I am a saint. (1 Cor. 1:2; Eph. 1:1; Phil. 1:1; Col. 1:2)

I am God’s workmanship - His handiwork - born anew in Christ to do His work. (Eph. 2:10)

I am a fellow citizen with the rest of God’s family. (Eph. 2:19)

I am a prisoner of Christ. (Eph. 3:1; 4:1)

I am righteous and holy. (Eph. 4:24)

I am a citizen of heaven, seated in heaven right now. (Eph. 2:6; Phil. 3:20)
I am hidden with Christ in God. (Col. 3:3)
I am an expression of the life of Christ because He is my life. (Col. 3:4)
I am chosen of God, holy and dearly loved. (Col. 3:12; 1Thess. 1:4)

I am a son of light and not of darkness. (1 Thess. 5:5)

I am a holy partaker of a heavenly calling. (Heb. 3:1)

I am a partaker of Christ; I share in His life. (Heb. 3:14)

I am one of God’s living stones, being built up in Christ as a spiritual house. (1 Pet. 2:5)

I am a member of a chosen race, a royal priesthood,
a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession. (1Pet. 2:9,10)

I am an alien and stranger to this world in which I temporarily live. (1 Pe. 2:11)

I am an enemy of the devil. (1 Pet. 5:8)

I am a child of God and I will resemble Christ when He returns.(1 John 3:1,2)

I am born of God, and the evil one - the devil - cannot touch me .(1 John 5:18)

I am not the great “I am” (Exod. 3:14; John 8:24,28,58), but by the grace of God,
I am what I am. (1 Cor. 15:10)

Because you are alive in Christ, every one of those characteristics is completely true of you, and you can do nothing to make them more true.

You can, however, make these traits more
meaningful and productive in your life by simply choosing to believe what God has said about you.

You will not be prideful if you do, but you may be defeated if you don’t.

One of the greatest ways to help yourself grow into maturity in Christ is to continually remind yourself who you are in Him.

I suggest you go back and read the “Who am I” list aloud to
yourself right now.

Read the list once or twice a day for a week or two. Read it when you think Satan is trying to deceive you into believing you are a worthless failure.

The more you reaffirm who you are in Christ, the more your behavior will begin to reflect your true identity.

How to Find Perfect Peace 😌

Isaiah 26:3 "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." (KJV)

This is a key verse in any Christian's life. It deals with our focus. To illustrate how this works, I want to look at an incident in Peters life.

In Matthew 14:23-31 we see the incident of Jesus walking on the water. To keep this reasonably brief, Jesus had sent the disciples to cross the sea. In the middle of the night Jesus came walking to the boat on the water. Peter ask the Lord if he could come to Jesus and Jesus said yes. Peter got out of the boat and begins his walk to Jesus. It was windy and the waves were high.

Peter looked at the waves, taking his eyes off of Jesus and immediately begins to sink. He cries out and Jesus saves him. Peter lost his focus when he began to look at the circumstances.

We begin to sink in despair, fear, lust, temptation etc. when we take our eyes off of Jesus and look at what is going on in the world around us. The child of God who keeps his eyes on Jesus can have perfect peace knowing Jesus is ordering the events in our lives. Nothing touches me that doesn't come through His hands with His approval. (Romans 11:36)

Lets look at Peter again.

In Acts 12:1-7, Peter is in prison and Herod is going to take his head off in a day or two. We find Peter asleep when the angel comes to wake him up and take him out of prison. The angel had to kick him in the side to wake him. What was the difference here and when Peter was walking on the water? Here Peter had his focus set on Jesus. He knew to be absent from the body was to present with the Lord so he could sleep like a baby.

Here's the key: to have perfect peace keep your focus on the Lord and trust Him with the outcome, regardless of what it is.

When that first negative thought comes, take it immediately to the Lord and keep your focus on Jesus Christ. Begin to sing a hymn, quote scripture, recite your salvation experience, or recount what Jesus has done for you in the past; Get your focus back on Jesus and trust Him to lead you.

Psalms 118.24. This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

This is a beautiful verse for the child of God. This day is special. It is the only one I have. We are to live in the present, not in the past or in the future. God is the God of the present. We should live this day to the fullest for the glory of God. He as given it to us. How we live it is our choice. I get to choose whether I rejoice in it or not. Too many want to complain about the day and all day. Rejoicing is a choice. It is a heart choice. There is much to rejoice and be glad about. The God who has made the day has also ordered the events of my day so I can be glad in the direction it takes. Even if there is heartache or tragedy or perceived harm it is always to draw me closer to Him. Knowing this I can trust in His judgment and rest in Him. What kind of day will you have? Will you let your day draw you closer to the Lord ? Fill your mouth with rejoicing and praise today.
