***Do not reply or respond to any suspicious emails. Instead, contact the person by a different method to confirm the email's origin.***

It has come to our attention that a phishing email attack by people impersonating Pastor Lloyd has been trying to scam individuals in our church and community. In this case, the claim is that there is sensitive information that needs your attention, and to not try to call but instead reply to that email, as show in the attached picture. This is not a normal mode of communication, as Pastor Lloyd primarily contacts others via phone calls. If someone did respond to this email, the scammer would likely ask for money or gift cards to “help” with a problem of some sort.

The email used (in this case, [email protected]) does not belong to Pastor Lloyd or anyone else on staff. If you have received anything from church staff members that seems suspicious, do not respond to that email. Instead, please reach out to the staff member or church office via a different mode of communication, ideally a phone call, to confirm the email’s origin. Please report any suspicious emails you receive to your email host, and contact the church office if you discover someone posing as a staff member. If you recently received a suspicious email and responded to it, contact the church office as soon as possible at 541-572-2969.

Again, do not reply or respond to any suspicious emails, and contact the person by a different method to confirm the email's origin.

Luke 24:1-12

"On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words. When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened."

On Good Friday, we remember Jesus' crucifixion, his death in our place.

This year, we are reuploading a meditation originally recorded in 2023, presented by Loys Parrish, one of our elders. Loys went home to the Lord in December of 2025. We are honoring his life and faith by again looking at the truth he spoke then that still speaks today.

We thank God for Loys' many years of service in leading our church, and that he always pointed us to Christ.
