Luke 24:1-12

"On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words. When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened."

On Good Friday, we remember Jesus' crucifixion, his death in our place.

This year, we are reuploading a meditation originally recorded in 2023, presented by Loys Parrish, one of our elders. Loys went home to the Lord in December of 2025. We are honoring his life and faith by again looking at the truth he spoke then that still speaks today.

We thank God for Loys' many years of service in leading our church, and that he always pointed us to Christ.

Starting TODAY, we are beginning a series looking at the final week of Jesus' life, from the Triumphal Entry through the Resurrection. This is going to be a time of looking at the prophecies, historic accounts, and evidences surrounding Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection, plus reflecting on his sacrifice for our sakes. We hope to see you there!

Faith Promise is THIS WEEKEND!
--
Every year, we start the weekend with a prayer vigil, prayer for the missions, the speakers, the church, and the pledges. Our Friday prayer vigil still has open spots, so if you want to take part, please call the church office!

This year, our Saturday brunch session speaker is Cody Custer, Executive Director of Gospel Broadcasting Mission. GBM uses radio and internet to spread the gospel to the unreached. Cody will be giving an update about the organization and what projects they have going on.

Our main speakers are Mike and Jeanette Propp, Directors of Village of Hope. Village of Hope is a family-style orphanage in the Philippines that takes in kids and raises them through to adulthood and to know Jesus. They will be speaking at both Sunday sessions. These sessions will be totally unique from each other, so be sure to be at both!

About Faith Promise:

Faith Promise is our annual missions festival and the way we fund the missions we support. Over the weekend, we'll hear from mission directors about what they're doing, spend lots of time in prayer, and receive Faith Promise Pledges. These pledges are the amount decided between you and God of how much you promise to give to missions, and we have faith that God will provide this amount. This is above and beyond regular tithes and offerings, and totally anonymous. MPFCC has used the Faith Promise system to fund our missions for over 50 years, and to date we have raised over $1.6 Million for missions in this way!

If you want to learn more about Faith Promise and the missions we support, check out our missions page at https://mpfcc.org/missions/
