The Carpenter's Workshop

The Carpenter's Workshop The Carpenter's Workshop is a church dedicated to reaching the next generation for Jesus Christ. What do all these numbers mean and why should you care?

The Carpenter's Workshop is a brand new church in the Myrtle Beach area of South Carolina that will focus tremendous resources on reaching the next generation for Jesus Christ. As our work grows, we will invest the overwhelming majority of the resources entrusted to our care to evangelize, engage, equip and enable the next generation for the work of the ministry and a lifetime dedicated to Jesus C

hrist. We will leverage the full spectrum of creative and performing arts to create high-impact evangelistic resources focused on reaching the lost and leading them to accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Nearly half of all Americans who accept Jesus Christ as their savior do so before reaching the age of 13 (43%), and two out of three born again Christians (64%) made that commitment to Christ before their 18th birthday. One out of eight born again people (13%) made their profession of faith while 18 to 21 years old. Less than one out of every four born again Christians (23%) embraced Christ after their twenty-first birthday. Even though more than 4 out of every 10 people ministered to in church during the week are children, the majority of churches spend 7 out of every 8 ministry dollars on adults. Is there any wonder why a recent Pew Research poll found that the number of Millennials in America who have no involvement in the church has grown to 32% now. Recent surveys by the Barna Group have shed light on this trend by examining those 18- to 29-year-olds who used to identify themselves closely with faith and the church, but who have since begun to wrestle with that identity. In fact, between high school and turning 30, 43% of these once-active Millennials drop out of regular church attendance—that amounts to eight million twentysomethings who have, for various reasons, given up on church or Christianity. Today in America, only 16% of practicing Christian Millennials say that the church is the main source from which they have learned or discovered absolute moral truths and standards. It means that we are losing a larger and larger portion of our children and grandchildren to hell for eternity and "the Church" isn't doing a very good job of stopping this trend. The Carpenter's Workshop will do our part to reverse this tragic trend everywhere the Lord allows us to have influence.
