Glory to God for a wonderful international trip to Pampady, India!
Our MGOCSM Missions participants (from Northeast and Southwest Diocese) journeyed together to Pampady Dayara from December 27 to January 12. The trip moved according to God’s plan with service work in the old age home (Abhayabhavan), palliative care center (Asha Kiran), center for differently abled (MOCEM), women’s psychosocial rehabilitation center (St. Macrina’s), men’s rehabilitation center (Sajeevanam) and orphanage (Balabhavan). Our participants eagerly engaged with the Pampady community, developed their Malayalam-speaking skills, and led themed devotionals that helped them spiritually connect on this mission trip.
In addition to the service work, Team Pampady visited ancient churches that have founded and built our Orthodox faith, including Devalokam Aramana, Parumala Pally,
Kunamkulam Aramana, Pazhaya Seminary, Cheriya Pally, and Puthupally. While visiting and praying at these historical sites, the team received blessings from H.H Baselios Marthoma Mathews III, H.G. Dr. Yuhanon Mar Diascoros Metropolitan, H.G Dr. Geevarghese Mar Yulios, and Joseph Ramban Achen.
Thank God for giving our Missions team the chance to serve our community back home. We are grateful to our Diocese and Pampady Dayara members for helping coordinate and lead this trip. We give a special thanks to our Spiritual Advisor, Rev. Fr. Bobby Varghese; our MGOCSM Missions Convener, Carolyn Cherian; our Missions Board members; our Committee Leads, Mariam and Marilyn, and all of our Missions participants– Vinny, Saramma, Summa, Sherwin, and Sibin– who had the heart to serve on this two-week trip with us!
As we begin this Lenten season, please continue to pray for our ministry and its growth!
