******April Spotlight******
AFF Ladies of Character Spotlight this month goes to our very own National Ladies Director, Sister Angela Martin! We are both humbled and blessed by her ministry, and her guidance of the Ladies in the AFF!
* The very first time I met Sister Martin was at a fellowship meeting in Texas.
She quickly became my friend. It wasn’t difficult to strike up a conversation with her, and I never felt like an outsider in her presence.
She had a way of making me feel as if I had always belonged, as if I were an old friend she had been waiting to meet.
These are the things I quickly came to know about her as a friend.
She prays!
I’m not talking about a quiet, rehearsed prayer whispered out of obligation before bedtime.
No, this woman knows how to shake the very throne of heaven. She prays with authority, with conviction, with a fire that ignites the atmosphere around her.
When she prays, demons tremble. Strongholds crumble. The enemy’s plans are shattered before they ever take root. She doesn’t just say words; she wages war in the spirit.
She’s faithful!
Some people are dependable, but Sister Martin redefines what it means to be steadfast.
There is no question of whether she will be in church because missing is simply not an option for her. There is no doubt if she will attend a ladies’ event because she believes in showing up, in being present, in making herself available to those around her.
And if you ever need her, you don’t have to wonder if she will answer because she is always there, always ready to listen, always willing to pray, always standing in the gap.
She’s holy!
I have never once hesitated to introduce her to my Pastor or my Pastor’s wife because I know without a shadow of a doubt that she upholds holiness, not just in appearance, but in her very spirit.
She walks with grace and dignity, carrying herself as a woman who knows who she is in God.
She believes in kindness, in the power of love, in the beauty of righteousness.
She is not swayed by trends or the opinions of others. She knows what she stands for, and she stands unwavering.
She’s a fighter!
Make no mistake, Sister Martin is not a passive woman. She does not back down. She does not retreat.
She does not give up. If a soul is in danger, she will charge the very gates of hell on their behalf. She doesn’t fight with words of accusation or weapons of the flesh.
She fights on her knees, in prayer, with unwavering faith and a determination that hell itself cannot withstand.
She has always fought for the underdog, always stood in the gap for the forgotten. And I can say with all honesty, there have been times when I was that underdog, and she fought for me.
She’s human!
It’s easy to admire someone from a distance, but what makes Sister Martin even more remarkable is that she does not pretend to be perfect.
I have watched her extend a hand in humility, seeking reconciliation when she felt the need to apologize. She does not let pride take root.
She makes things right quickly and refuses to let the sun set on unresolved matters. She has reached for more lost souls than anyone I have ever known, and she does it without hesitation, without complaint, without seeking recognition.
She simply loves people too much to let them be lost.
She loves people!
She never meets a stranger. The moment she steps into someone’s presence, they feel seen, valued, and important.
She speaks life into those who feel invisible. She makes people feel like they matter, like they are worth something. And of course, she never lets an opportunity pass without inviting them to church because she knows that the greatest gift she can offer is the love of God.
She is patient!
I have watched her reach for the same lost soul time and time again, never tiring, never giving up hope.
I have seen people mistreat her, dishonor her, and speak against her, yet she still wraps them in a warm embrace and tells them she loves them.
I have seen them tear her apart with their words, and she has looked them in the eyes without bitterness, without anger, and simply said, “I love you.”
That kind of love is not ordinary. That kind of love is not weak. That kind of love is Christ in her.
This is why she’s my friend!
I love you so much, Sis. Angela Martin.
You are more than just a friend. You are a rare and faithful treasure, a gift from God, and I am beyond blessed to have you in my life.
Love you,
Sis Jency Proctor

* When I met Sis Angela Martin she was a friend right then and there. I feel she is the perfect lady for the National Ladies position. She can put an idea in motion and make it happen. She also can wear many hats at once and not be over stressed. You can ask for prayer and know she will pray for you and your situation as long as needed. Thank you Sis Angela Martin for all you do for us ladies in the AFF.
