We are pleased to announce that we have called The Rev. Deacon Rebekah Taylor and she has accepted our call as our next Priest-in-Charge. She will be ordained to the priesthood in November. Rebekah will start at St. Paul's and St. Peter's-by-the Lake on September 20. On that Sunday, September 20, we'll have a celebratory potluck following the service. Please bring a dish to share and your own table service. A sign-up sheet is on the Welcome Table.

Rebekah grew up in coastal North Carolina. She received a Bachelor of Arts in History, with a minor in Anthropology, from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington. Her undergraduate research focused on environmental advocacy and conservation in the United States, which grew her passion for creation care and environmental justice. After college, Rebekah worked in campus ministry in Tucson, Arizona for a couple of years before moving across the country again to attend seminary in Holland, Michigan.

While in Michigan, Rebekah joined the Episcopal Church through St. John's Episcopal in Grand Haven and deepened her love of parish ministry through serving as a seminary intern there for just over 2 years. Upon completing her Master of Divinity degree at Western Theological Seminary, she moved to Alexandria, VA to complete her post-graduate diploma in Anglican Studies at Virginia Theological Seminary. While in the greater Washington D.C. area, she served as a seminarian at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Capitol Hill.

Rebekah enjoys playing board games, gardening, exploring museums, and trying to identify local birds.
