🙏🏾 Gracious God,

You've asked us to treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves. You've asked us to love our neighbor. You've asked us to forgive as You have forgiven us.

But God, this is so difficult!

We are witnessing injustice and cruelty and bigotry every where we look, every where we go. We want to look away, we want to protect our hearts from breaking.

God, help us to not look away, but instead to focus on You and pass all our worries and fears through Your heavenly lens. Let us be Your vision, Your eyes as well as Your hands, feet and voice. Give us clarity. Give us courage. Amen

🙏🏾 Give us strength to stand up to injustice, as Jesus did, and the grace to do it gently.

Help us protect the young, infirm, and vulnerable.

And, help us to forgive the transgressors, whether or not they come to terms with their ways. Amen.

We pray today for our faith communities.

You have placed us into real places with real needs.

Help us to be mindful of the needs around us and to respond to those needs with love, justice, compassion - and real actions.

May we partner with those working for the common good.

Open our eyes and our hands to make an impact with our neighbors.
