United Church of the Valley

United Church of the Valley We value spiritual growth, education, environmental harmony, inclusion, Interfaith understanding and social justice. Open & Affirming

We listen for the voice of a still speaking God and in all things seek to understand the will of a just and loving God. United Church of the Valley is a congregation, meaning primarily we are a group of people and not a building or institution. It was chartered in 1993 to be a works-oriented, progressive witness in the greater Murrieta area. Our people come from all over the inland valley, includi

ng places like Fallbrook, Temecula, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, and Hemet. We do not believe you need a big sanctuary or elaborate facilities to serve God and to be a people of faith on a journey together. We currently set up for worship every Sunday at the Temecula Masonic Center, an independent organization from whom we rent.

πŸ™πŸΎ Gracious God,

You've asked us to treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves. You've asked us to love our neighbor. You've asked us to forgive as You have forgiven us.

But God, this is so difficult!

We are witnessing injustice and cruelty and bigotry every where we look, every where we go. We want to look away, we want to protect our hearts from breaking.

God, help us to not look away, but instead to focus on You and pass all our worries and fears through Your heavenly lens. Let us be Your vision, Your eyes as well as Your hands, feet and voice. Give us clarity. Give us courage. Amen

πŸ™πŸΎ Give us strength to stand up to injustice, as Jesus did, and the grace to do it gently.

Help us protect the young, infirm, and vulnerable.

And, help us to forgive the transgressors, whether or not they come to terms with their ways. Amen.

πŸ™πŸΎ Holy One:

We pray today for our faith communities.

You have placed us into real places with real needs.

Help us to be mindful of the needs around us and to respond to those needs with love, justice, compassion - and real actions.

May we partner with those working for the common good.

Open our eyes and our hands to make an impact with our neighbors.

Amen.
