New Class Lesson Series - Emotions: What Do Christians Do With Them?
Anthony Yanis introduced our series last Sunday morning and showed a clip from the Disney movie, "Inside Out". If you aren't familiar with it, we looked at several different emotions and what happens when we let those emotions control our thinking. But as a Christian, are we supposed to feel those emotions? Of course we are. We are human. Are emotions evil? No, in fact, they are a gift from God. We are made in his image. Of all His creations, we are the only ones that can think about our thinking! God experiences emotions and there are specific examples in scripture. Exodus 34:6, "The Lord is compassionate." Psalm 147:11, He delights. Jeremiah 10:10, "At His wrath..." God is an emotional being: love, wrath, jealousy, compassion are all things that scripture tells us he feels. Come to class on Sunday and hear as we unpack individual emotions from a Biblical perspective. If you aren't able to make it to class, you can watch the podcast at any time.
