| THE GOSPEL |

You might think the Gospel would automatically be #1 on our list of priorities….and it is. But maybe not in the way you think.

Hear me out:

#1 — SAFETY
#2 — RELATIONSHIPS
#3 — THE GOSPEL

Why?

Because if a parent doesn’t feel like their child is safe, they won’t bring them.

If a child doesn’t feel genuinely known, loved, and welcomed, they won’t want to come back.

And if parents aren’t bringing them and kids don’t want to be there, we lose the opportunity to share the Gospel with them.

Safety creates trust.
Relationships create connection.
And connection creates opportunities for the Gospel.

At the end of the day, everything we do in kids ministry points back to one thing:

Jesus. The Gospel.

We create safe spaces.
We build meaningful relationships.
And then we get to introduce kids to the One who loves them more than they could ever imagine.

Because it’s all about Jesus. Always.

We can’t blame a generation for failing to become what we were commanded to make.

Discipleship doesn’t happen through exposure.

Being around Christianity and church doesn’t automatically make someone a disciple.

Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples.”
— Matthew 28:19

Making requires intention.

A disciple is taught.

The church has a role.
Parents have a role.
And our kids need both.

We aren’t called to simply bring our kids to church and hope they become disciples.

The church is here to help, equip, encourage, and partner with you as you intentionally make disciples—

Because it starts at home. 🏠❤️

What a week. ❤️

It’s hard to believe VBS is already over.

For four days, our hallways were filled with laughter, worship, excitement, and more energy than we knew what to do with. Kids made new friends, learned new truths, asked big questions, and most importantly, spent time learning about Jesus.

This week at Basecamp we learned:

🏔️ The Map— Life can be hard, but God has given us a guide.

🧭 The Leader — Jesus is the One worth following, and His voice can always be trusted.

❤️ The Rescue — God’s love for us is so great that He sent Jesus to rescue us.

✨ The Purpose — Every child was created by God on purpose and for a purpose.

But when we look back on this week, these aren’t just lessons we taught. They’re truths we watched come alive in the hearts of kids.

We saw kids worship with abandon. We heard them ask thoughtful questions. We watched friendships form. We prayed together. We laughed together. We made memories together.

And honestly, that’s what makes VBS so special.

To every volunteer who gave up their time, showed up tired, carried the heavy things, cleaned up messes, comforted nervous kids, led small groups, danced to motions, and loved these kids so well….thank you. You are the reason weeks like this happen.

To every parent who trusted us with your children this week, thank you. It is a gift we never take lightly.

And to our kids…you are the reason we do this. Watching you learn about Jesus is one of the greatest joys we get to experience.

As we packed up yesterday, there was a lot of gratitude and maybe a little sadness too. Because after a week like this, it’s hard to say goodbye.

But we’re trusting that what God started this week doesn’t end here.

The songs may stop playing. The decorations may come down. But the truth remains.

Jesus is with us.
Jesus leads us.
Jesus rescues us.
And Jesus has a purpose for every one of us.

What a week. We loved every second of it. ❤️

Already counting down to next year. 🚀✨

Tonight made it all feel real.

Not because of the decorations or schedules or last minute planning. Not even because VBS is almost here.

It was the people.

A room full of leaders worshipping together, praying together, laughing through games, eating together, and quietly preparing their hearts for what God is about to do. There is something powerful about watching people show up not for recognition, but because they genuinely love kids and want them to know Jesus.

One of my favorite parts of the night was handing out our “Pray for Me” cards. Every card had the name of a child registered for VBS. Tiny names in our hands. Big purpose behind them. Before the lights, music, crafts, and chaos of VBS week even begin, these kids are already being covered in prayer.

I keep thinking about how grateful I am for this team. Truly. The best leaders in this county and I mean that. Not because they are flashy or perfect, but because they serve with joy. They care deeply. They give their time freely. They lead with humility.

You can feel that something special is coming.

VBS, we are ready for you.

As I was searching and praying about curriculum for this summer, I kept coming back to one thing on my heart: our kids need a strong foundation. Not just fun (although we will have plenty of that!), but truth that sticks.

I couldn’t find a curriculum that fully captured what I believe the Lord is calling us to teach, so we’re building something intentional… something foundational.

I have a deep burden for this next generation to truly understand:
• what it means to be a Christian
• what the Bible is and why it matters
• what it looks like to follow Jesus
• that they are fearfully and wonderfully made by God
• what it means to give their life to Christ

This is where Basecamp: Building a Faith that Lasts begins.

In hiking and climbing, basecamp is where everything starts. It’s where you prepare, train, gather what you need, and build strength before heading toward the summit. You don’t start at the top….you start with a solid foundation.

The same is true in our walk with Christ.
Before kids can stand strong in their faith out in the world, they need a place to learn, ask questions, build confidence in God’s Word, and understand who they are in Him.

Basecamp is that place. It’s where we help them take those first steps toward a lifelong journey with Jesus.

And we’re doing it in a way kids will LOVE!
✨ Fun skits
🎶 Worship
📖 Scripture memorization
🌍 Missions rotation (learning to be the hands and feet of Jesus)
⚽ Outdoor rec and games

This is a community invite 🤍
Even if you don’t attend Bethel, we would absolutely love for your kids to join us for these 4 days of fun, growth, and purpose.

We’re launching something new…

Research shows that intergenerational faith is one of the strongest predictors of long-term spiritual formation. When children are known, encouraged, and supported by adults beyond their immediate ministry, their connection to faith grows deeper and stronger because it is not just what they are taught, it is who shows up in their life.

Because of this, we’re starting
bSports & Activities: Church Family Support Program

This is about more than sports and activities schedules. It’s about building a church where kids are intentionally:
Loved, cared for and prayed for.

We want to be the kind of church that doesn’t just teach kids on Sundays…
but shows up for them in real life at games, recitals, performances, and big moments that matter to them.

The church family of our kids plays a vital role!
Your presence matters more than you think. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply show up.

Let’s be a church known for how we care for the next generation.
