We are excited for Hannah Underwood as she is commissioned as a Provisional Deacon at Annual Conference! Everyone is invited to attend the Service of Licensing, Commissioning, and Ordination this Tuesday evening, June 9th, at First UMC Murfreesboro at 7:00 p.m. with a reception following.

Be aware that this is one of the most meaningful and well-attended services of the Annual Conference. If you plan to attend, you are encouraged to arrive no later than 6:30 p.m., and be prepared for the service to last up to 2 hours. Nursery is available by reservation.

St. Mark’s clergy and lay delegates will be attending the Tennessee/Western Kentucky Annual Conference held at First UMC Murfreesboro beginning later this afternoon and continuing through Wednesday. St. Mark’s members will also be serving as ushers, acolytes, communion servers, choir singers, handbell choir ringers, meal hosts, and more. Please keep the conference and all involved in your prayers!

Double your Giving to Alleviate
Food Insecurity with this Sunday's Communion Rail Offering

Through a partnership with the Tennessee-Western Kentucky (TWK) Conference and ENCORE Ministry Foundation (EMF), funds from this year's TWK Annual Conference offering, along with matching funds from EMF, will be combined to use for a limited number of one-time special food security grants. The number of grants awarded will be based on the conference offering amount and matching funds. St. Mark's feeding ministries is a recent recipient of a $5000 grant from these funds.

With the matching funds from EMF, now is the time to double your impact to alleviate food insecurity for our neighbors! Please consider giving generously through this Sunday's Communion Rail Offering.

On Pentecost Sunday, we remember the day the disciples received the Holy Spirit in a special way. The story in Acts 2 describes a powerful wind and tongues of fire as the Holy Spirit was poured out on people from all over the world who came to Jerusalem to celebrate a Jewish feast. At the first Pentecost, over 3000 people were baptized, creating the first church. This is why Pentecost is known as the birthday of the Christian church.

To help one another celebrate the Holy Spirit, we encourage you to wear RED to worship this Sunday, May 24th!
