Assignment Announcements 📣
On Sunday, June 14th, Pastor T will be on assignment and honored to join The Mount Church to deliver the Word in celebration of Pastor & Lady Hughes’ 3rd Pastoral Anniversary! What a blessing to be invited to share in such a special occasion! 🎉

This means Pastor T will not be at FCM on June 14th… BUT MY GOD! 🙌🏾 Don’t you worry…the house will still be full of purpose and power!
Our very own Elder Kyla Jones will be standing in for her Mother and bringing a powerful word from the Lord, and we are believing for an incredible move of God!
Let’s show up with expectancy, love, and support as we continue in worship together! ❤️

Yesterday we celebrated the birthday AND accomplishments of our very own Carsten! 🥳🎉
Some may say Autism… but around here, we say AWESOME 💙

Look at what this incredible young king has accomplished:

🎓 Graduated from Speech Therapy
🎨 Received recognition for mastery in Art
🎶 Recognized in Music (and babyyy… he got a cute little voice and can HOLD a note 😂🥹)
✍🏾 Recognized for Penmanship
📚 Reading on a 3rd grade level going into 2nd grade
🔤 Spelling and pronouncing words correctly
-Tremendous growth in behavior & emotional regulation
-He will continue thriving in the general education classroom setting
-ANDDDDD this boy done messed around and scored in the ABOVE AVERAGE percentile on the universal standard test 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Listen… don’t tell US what God won’t do! Progress deserves celebration, hard work deserves recognition, and THIS right here is a testimony! We are so proud of you, Carsten! Keep soaring, baby! 💙✨

NERVOUS SYSTEM REGULATION

Your nervous system is your body’s internal alarm and safety system. It constantly scans your environment asking:
“Am I safe right now?”
When the nervous system becomes overwhelmed by stress, trauma, anxiety, burnout, or chronic pressure, the body can get stuck in survival mode.

SIGNS YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM MAY BE DYSREGULATED:

• Racing thoughts
• Irritability
• Anxiety or panic
• Emotional numbness
• Trouble sleeping
• Feeling constantly “on edge”
• Overreacting to small stressors
• Fatigue or shutdown
• Difficulty concentrating

THE NERVOUS SYSTEM STRESS RESPONSES:

Fight – anger, frustration, defensiveness
Flight – overworking, restlessness, anxiety
Freeze – shutdown, numbness, feeling stuck
Fawn – people pleasing to avoid conflict
These responses are not weaknesses; they are survival responses.

WAYS TO HELP REGULATE THE NERVOUS SYSTEM

Deep breathing (like box breathing)
Grounding techniques
Sleep and rest (often overlooked)
Movement/exercise
Spending time in safe relationships
Prayer, mindfulness, or meditation
Limiting constant stress and overstimulation
Therapy and emotional processing

Healing begins when the body finally feels safe enough to relax.

Last night, our Pastor, alongside the leader of our Healing Mind Ministry, had the honor of joining Angela Bingham on Simplicity Radio to have an important, REAL, and impactful conversation surrounding mental health.
At Faith Chapel Murfreesboro, we believe healing matters…mind, body, and spirit. This conversation was a reminder that the Church must be a safe place for real conversations, real support, and real healing.
