Darren Welker Servant Heart Fund

Darren Welker Servant Heart Fund In September 2020, Darren Welker, passed away unexpectedly in a motorcycle accident.

In memory of his life, we have founded this nonprofit in his name with hopes to spread the love of God by continuing to demonstrate the Servant Heart of Darren. Darren Welker lived his life as a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and most importantly, a follower of Christ. He worked as an independent contractor, building and remodeling homes in Murfreesboro, TN. Darren was an active mem

ber of Walter Hill Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon overseeing or contributing to the Disaster Relief, Elderly Assistance, Visitation and Mission Committees. Through his work and roles in the church, Darren lived each day as a servant, spreading love and laughter to all. Mission work was always close to Darren’s heart, not only overseas missions but in his own community as well. Serving others was a daily act that Darren based his life on and by example, encouraged others to do the same. Darren loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with friends on motorcycle rides through God’s creation. On September 26, 2020 Darren lost his life to a motorcycle wreck in North Carolina. In Darren’s memory, we hope to continue his example of servitude by supporting others in their efforts to spread the good news of God’s love. Our aim is not to buildup the name of a man but continue the work he started, which is to, live each day demonstrating the love and gospel of Christ through service.

Matthew 5:16 ♡

There are people watching your life every day. Others notice your kindness, your compassion, your generosity, and the way you choose to love those around you.

Our goal isn’t to be noticed, but to faithfully reflect the One we follow. When we serve with humility, love without expecting anything in return, and care for those around us, we become a living testimony of God’s goodness.

The world needs more light, and God often chooses ordinary people to carry it. Sometimes we think letting our light shine requires doing something extraordinary, but more often it’s found in the ordinary moments.

It’s showing grace to the overwhelmed mom whose child is having a hard day in the grocery store. It’s choosing patience instead of frustration when you’re stuck in traffic. It’s offering a smile to a stranger. It’s checking in on a friend who has been carrying a heavy burden. It’s holding the door or returning a shopping cart for someone in the parking lot.

The smallest acts of love can spark the biggest questions. A moment of unexpected kindness may lead someone to wonder what inspires us to love others so freely.

May everything we do point others back to Him. Let your light shine💡

DWSHF in the Mission Field 🌎❤️
Our group has been busy this week; feeding the hungry, tending to physical needs, loving on hurting hearts, and spreading the good news of Jesus! Throughout the week this group has assembled and delivered food bags, hygiene care bags, hot meals, and clothing to local villages, patients at the hospital, a nursering home, a blind school, and a women’s shelter. They have taught groups of children VBS lessons while their families received dental and medical care. They have constructed a house for a family in need and encouraged local brothers and sisters in Christ. Each night they meet together for a devotional to pray over their daily work and to praise God for the opportunities that were brought to them.

Please pray for our travelers as they head back home tomorrow and for the hearts they have touched while in Honduras! Thank you for following along and helping DWSHF make this trip possible each year, we couldn’t be the light without the support of our donors ❤️‍🩹

Happy Father's Day from The Servant Heart Fund 💙 ⚒️
Today, we honor and celebrate all fathers—those who are with us and especially those whose memories continue to live on in our hearts.
Fatherhood is more than a title; it is a legacy of love, sacrifice, and service. The lessons that fathers teach, the examples they set, and the love they give continue to shape lives long after they are gone.
May we honor their legacy by serving others with kindness, compassion, and generosity—the very qualities that continue to inspire the work of the Darren Welker Servant Heart Fund.

Darren would want as many fathers possible honored today, so please feel free to name your father and post a photo of him in the comments below and share a word that best represents him to you.

DWSHF wanted to share a past service project from January of this year!
📦 There’s something special about showing up for someone in a season of transition.
This project was all about helping a sweet single woman get back home, closer to family, support, and familiarity.

With a team of incredible volunteers, we packed up a home full of belongings, loaded a moving truck, and helped transport her back to her hometown!📍
