Hello friends!
We invite you to join our Community Protestant Church volunteer group in packing nutritious meals for hungry children around the world this Friday, June 5th from 2:00-3:45pm at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) 742 E. Park Ave. Libertyville IL. FMSC’s mission is to feed God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit. You will hear them say “We want to reach everyone, until ALL are fed.” This means reaching the hard-to-reach people and places, the “least of these”. They will be found, and they will be fed. But it takes our volunteer help to do it. If you have a couple of hours this Friday, please join us!

An added bonus - CPC will donate $10 to FMSC for each of your volunteer hours (maximum of 30 hours per person annually)

Please RSVP via “comments” or “direct message” to Jan Dubell so we can register you for the session. Thanks!

You’re invited to worship with us this Sunday!

We’re beginning a new summer sermon series, “The Search for Wisdom,” with Proverbs 1:1–19. Together we’ll reflect on wisdom, listening, community, and the grace that guides us from generation to generation.

Worship will also include a celebration of baptism.

Come as you are—all are welcome!

Come celebrate Pentecost with us this Sunday, May 24th, at 9:30am as we gather to hear again the story of wind, fire, and the Spirit poured out for all people. In a world that can feel both overwhelming and anxious, we will listen for the many ways God draws near—sometimes with power, sometimes with peace, always with presence and promise.
Through Scripture, prayer, and song we will be renewed by the Spirit who meets us right where we are and sends us out with courage and joy. Don’t forget if you’re joining us in-person to WEAR RED as a sign of the Spirit’s fire and the life of the church! Can’t be here? No problem for the Holy Spirit! Join us online here live or catch up after the service. All are welcome—come, Holy Spirit!

What if the power of God looks nothing like the power we’re used to? In a world that urges us to hold tight—to secure what is ours, to win at all costs, to grasp for control—this ancient hymn from Philippians offers a different vision: a vision of Christ, who did not seize power, but emptied himself in love. Join us for worship as we explore what it means to follow a God who gives rather than grasps, who serves rather than dominates, and who calls us into a life shaped by humility, compassion, and courage. Through prayer, music, and reflection, we will consider how the “mind of Christ” might reshape our lives, our communities, and our world. All are welcome—come as you are.
