Yesterday for Easter, we consider the idea that just because something is hard to believe doesn’t mean it isn’t true. From the vast number of atoms in the universe to the mysteries of our own bodies, we live every day surrounded by realities that stretch our understanding. In the same way, the resurrection of Jesus can feel impossible at first. Even the people closest to Him didn’t believe it when they first heard the news. They knew what we know: dead people don’t rise. And yet, something happened that moved them from doubt to belief, from fear to bold conviction.
The message of Easter begins with the brokenness of our world… sin, suffering, and separation from God. But it doesn’t end there. Through Jesus’ death on the cross, God’s justice and love met in a powerful way, offering forgiveness and restoration. And the resurrection is the proof: a declaration that sin has been paid for, death has been defeated, and new life is available to all who trust in Him. If Christ is risen, it changes everything.
So whether you’re full of faith or full of questions, you’re in good company. The invitation is the same today as it was then: come and see. Come back next Sunday and take a closer look. Because the tomb is empty, Jesus is alive, and hope is real. It may be hard to believe, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t true.
