We're excited to welcome Pastor Jack Scott today for his first Sunday at Avondale UMC! Jack has served as both a pastor and an administrator in the United Methodist Church, with roots throughout the state, including in Anderson, Fort Wayne, and Muncie. All are welcome at our Sunday worship. Casual conversation and coffee starts around 10 a.m., and the service is at 11 a.m. Come as you are!

Thank you, Pastor Ed, for your years of service, leadership, and friendship at Avondale UMC! Ed Armantrout is retiring from his pastoral role at the end of the month. We hope you'll join us this Sunday, June 28, for his last week at Avondale. Worship is at 11 a.m. with a carry-in lunch immediately following the service. We wish Ed all the best in retirement.

Our church will not be having a Good Friday service, but we invite anyone looking for a church this Friday to join our friends at Community of Hope Muncie UMC from 7-8 p.m. On Easter Sunday, Apr. 5, please plan to join us at Avondale at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome! Coffee and donuts will be ready for those who want to come early for time together before the service.

An Ash Wednesday prayer:
O God, maker of every thing and judge of all that you have made, from the dust of the earth you have formed us and from the dust of the earth you would raise us up. By the redemptive power of the cross, create in us clean hearts and put within us a new spirit, that we may repent of our sins and lead lives worthy of your calling, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
