A mission team just recently returned from Liberia, Africa and incoming high school freshman, Anna was a member of this team. Zach wrote about what it was like to watch Anna live out her calling to be a Kingdom Worker while in Liberia.
“It was beyond amazing to see Anna be on mission and live out her faith in a real and impactful manner. Mission trips aren't something you can just up and do one day. They take sacrifice and giving up things of this world to serve others. As a highschool girl, this is a summer where most teens her age have it filled with travel, sports, and pool parties. Anna has such a headstart on serving God and others, I love to see how God uses us when we just say “Yes” to him!
Anna is not perfect and never will be, and the world will continue to pull at her and distract her. When life gets hard and she is overcome by this world, she will remember that there are children in Africa that were impacted by her just holding their hand or making them laugh for the first time in months.
What's cool about Kingdom Workers is their path was blazed and laid by others that won't be recognized or remembered outside of heaven. There have been many students and adults in the past that went before her and that is why she went. Not because they told her to go, but they showed her to go. You won't change anyone's life by the words you speak but by the actions you take. So thank you to the ones that showed Anna what being a Kingdom Worker is and went before her.
We never know what impact we have on people by saying “Yes” to God and his calling. The impact Anna had cannot be measured but we know it was a step God had for this Kingdom Worker and it was a privilege to see her love others and put others before herself. She is full of laughter and fun and passion and kindness and if she continues to use those gifts to serve her Creator she will be doing just what the Bible tells us all to do in Romans 10:14-15.
I can't wait to see how trips like this impact the Kingdom back in Muncie and wherever He sends the Kingdom Workers in our youth group. I know there will be change because that's what Jesus brought and we will continue to say “Yes” to His calling!”
