As I land the plane of my ministry at TBC, I've been doing a lot of reflecting on and reassessing of the approach I've taken to pastoral ministry. I'll be honest; the issue addressed in this podcast episode is one I keep coming back to. While many (most?) pastors spend far too little time studying God's Word, others become infatuated with preaching perfect sermons. While directed to preachers, there are practical lessons for all believers to be learned from this episode of one of my all-around favorite podcasts.

Strangely enough, the errors surrounding the Bible's teaching on the Lord's Supper are legion. (That probably tells us how much the Devil hates this ordinance.) In our circles, one of the more common ones is to view communion as tantamount to a funeral service in which we morosely reflect on how bad we are. While of course, believers will remain sinners until we get to heaven, and we should actively cultivate our hatred of sin. Yet the main point of the Lord's Supper is that Jesus "receives sinners and eats with them" (Luke 15:2). Read this article for more reflections along these lines.
