This morning when I went to the Ozark nursing home, I spoke to the administrator about some specific things residents need, and some specific things they are not allowed to have. First I would like to list what they are Not allowed to receive as presents. They are not allowed to have candles for safety reasons, or the plug-in Air fresheners, or any Febreze or aerosol type air fresheners. Many people have requested nice smelling body lotion and body spray and that is highly encouraged, along with bath or shower gel. Some other nice gift ideas, are fuzzy socks or slippers with grips on the bottom, soft lap blankets, books, especially large print, Picture books, like landscape photography or anything pretty really, adult coloring books and devotionals, pen and stationary, journal, DVDs of old shows like the Andy Griffith show or I love Lucy would be appreciated. I did confirm That they Do have DVD players. One of the angels that I got requested a baby doll. She is a sweet lady that loves To hold my two-year-old son Eli. Comfort items like that, like a soft baby doll, or a cute stuffed animal is a great idea.Flowers, wreaths to hang on their door, picture frames ,Nice homey like things to make them feel warm and cozy. I am just going to post a few pictures here of some things I’ve been seeing at town and online that I think would make nice gifts. If you could buy from a small local business, or hand make something (like a blanket or quilt) that would make it even more special.
