Join us on Sunday, November 2, at 9am for a special All Saints Day service dedicated to honoring the lives of those we have lost in the past year. We will hold a time of remembrance and candle lighting to celebrate their memory.

This day is an opportunity for collective grieving, reflection, and remembrance, as we come together as a community to celebrate the lives that have touched our hearts.

You are encouraged to bring framed photos of your loved ones to place on the altar, creating a beautiful display of love and remembrance.
In the spirit of inclusivity, this gathering is open to everyone—whether you have lost a family member, a friend, or even a beloved pet. All are welcome to participate in this sacred act of remembrance.

We look forward to sharing this sacred time together!

Congratulations to our own Mike Whiteley!
We are overjoyed to share that Mike was unanimously approved for ordination yesterday afternoon after presenting his ordination paper and engaging in a thoughtful theological conversation at his Ecclesiastical Council in East Troy.

It has been a blessing to witness Mike’s journey of faith, ministry, and call, and we are thrilled to take this next step with him. First Congregational Church of Genesee is honored to host his Service of Ordination on Sunday, November 9 at 2:00 PM.

All are welcome to attend and celebrate this joyful milestone in Mike’s ministry!

We all love to think we’d be the humble tax collector in Jesus’ story—but what if we’re more like the Pharisee than we care to admit?

Join us as we explore the trap Jesus sets in Luke 18:9–14—a story about judgment, shame, mercy, and what happens when we stop keeping score and start seeing the Christ in one another.

See you at 9AM

What if justice isn’t about punishment or payback, but about healing and restoration? This Sunday, we’ll look at one of Jesus’ most misunderstood parables — and ask what it really means to “do justice” in a broken world.

We hope to see you on Sunday at 9AM for worship!

For many years, our Annual Pig Roast and Chicken Luau has been one of the highlights of our church calendar. It has been a time to gather, laugh, eat well, and celebrate our life together in community. It has also been our largest fundraiser of the year, providing essential support for our church budget.

This year, however, we will not be holding the Pig Roast and Chicken Luau. While this decision was not easy, we simply did not have enough volunteers to make the event possible.
We are so grateful for all who have given their time and energy in past years to create such a beloved tradition.

Though the event is taking a rest this year, our mission and ministry continue in full swing! Typically, the Pig Roast and Chicken Luau brings in a significant portion of our budget through food, raffle, drinks, and donations. Without the event, we invite you to consider supporting the church in another way:

Would you be willing to give what you would have spent at the Pig Roast and Chicken Luau this year as a donation to the church? Whether that’s the cost of tickets, raffle entries, or food donations, every gift helps keep our ministries strong and our budget on track.

AND in place of the Pig Roast, we invite you to join us for a Pig Race Potluck Dinner THIS SATURDAY, October 18, from 4:00–6:00 PM. Bring a dish to pass, enjoy the fellowship of friends and family, and share in the laughter as Lindsay Sayles leads Trivia during the last portion of the evening. It will be a joyful time together, celebrating community in a new way.

Thank you for helping us carry the spirit of the Pig Roast and Chicken Luau forward in a new
way this year.

Join us this Sunday for worship at 9AM as we look into Luke 17:11-19...
Sometimes the person we regard the least shows up the most. This week, we’ll meet a Samaritan who teaches us what it means to see beyond the surface, to live with gratitude, and to find wholeness in the love of Christ.

Join us for a special worship celebration this Sunday at 9AM!We hope to see you there.
